#BehindTheScenes 📊 Unveiling Insights from the 18th Annual Meeting & Event Barometer initiated by the European Association of Event Centers e.V. (EVVC e.V.), the German Convention Bureau e.V. and the German National Tourist Office. The study is carried out by the EITW Europäisches Institut für TagungsWirtschaft. An evidence-based approach is crucial to make appropriate strategic and operational decisions as a business.  We are therefore thrilled to have presented the results of the 18th Meeting & Event Barometer, providing facts, figures and data on the German meetings and conventions market. A heartfelt thank you to Ilona Jarabek who joint our presentation today to discuss and categorize the most important results with me. 🔑 Key Findings:  🤝 An increase in face-to-face events  🌍 Greater international participation  🌱 A stronger focus on sustainability  The results of the Meeting & Event Barometer 2023/24 underline the continued relevance of events on the one hand and the transformation of the industry in light of overall social developments on the other. The German meetings and conventions market is proving to be resilient and future-proof in the face of complex challenges. It remains crucial for the players to anticipate future industry developments and to integrate advanced technologies in a needs-based and customer-oriented manner. A 170-person incentive group planning their trip to Germany asked me about arranging lectures with renowned German companies. My advice: reach out to the local convention bureau. They are experts at connecting events with the right industry clusters. Being familiar with the city I shared my knowledge of regional companies, but their next step should be connecting with the convention bureau for introductions. Connecting the event with the right industry within the destination can greatly enhance its impact and legacy. Event planners shouldn't miss out on tapping into the local expertise and network of convention bureaus. The best part? Their services are typically free.
