Today is #NationalPhilanthropyDay and a new report from Independent Sector found a 1.7% decline in total giving and a 10% decline in the number of donors to nonprofits in the U.S. Philanthropy includes giving of your time, talent and resources in a multitude of ways, and while donations are crucial, there are so many ways to support nonprofits. Don’t let donations be the end of your #philanthropic support. If you can’t give, or give as much, we encourage you to find other ways to use your voice, offer pro bono services, #volunteer, or more. The Points of Light #CivicCircle provides a framework for engagement so that every person can find a way to support a cause they care about. #BeALight Candid https://lnkd.in/eUNQTjmQ

🌟 It's Giving Tuesday - A Day to Make a Difference! 🌟 Today is not just any Tuesday; it's #GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity that unites us all in the act of giving. 🌍💚 But why should you participate? Your support matters, especially for local nonprofits across Central New York. When you donate to community based organizations, you're investing in your own backyard. Your contribution helps these organizations continue their essential work, from feeding the hungry to providing educational resources, and so much more. Unlike larger organizations, local nonprofits often operate with tighter budgets. This means your donation, no matter the size, can have a significant impact. This Giving Tuesday, let's come together to support the heart and soul of our community - our local nonprofits. By doing so, we're not just giving back; we're building a foundation for a brighter, more supportive future for everyone. #GivingTuesday #SupportLocal #CommunityStrong #LocalImpact #MakeADifferenceToday #communitycarehub #cnycares #socialcarenetwork #cnystrong #cnyhealthequity #cnyhealth #inclusivealliance

As part of the Virginia Community Engagement Index (VCEI), we found that 51% of respondents had donated $25 or more in the past year to a nonpolitical cause. Only 8% of respondents reported that they haven't found a cause they care enough about to support financially. In short, when people can afford to, most are willing to invest in the causes they believe in through philanthropic support. Imagine presenting giving as a menu with various options... Can your supporters donate to specific age groups? Can they contribute to particular programs that inspire them? Can they give in a way that makes them feel like active participants in the process? What if you offered them the opportunity to see their support in action by inviting them to personally view the results? Simply placing a donate button on your website is not enough; everyone does that. The real question is: What are you doing to revolutionize giving within your nonprofit? What menu of options are you offering to engage and inspire your supporters? Sheree Allison https://shereeallison.com/

Navigating the waters of fundraising can often lead to the quest for the elusive 'holy grail': ways to raise funds without making a direct financial ask. Here are two strategies that can contribute to your fundraising efforts subtly yet significantly: 1. Enhance Donor Recognition: Acknowledge your donors' contributions at every opportunity. Whether it's through public appreciation, personalized gestures, or featuring them in various communications, recognition plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of philanthropy. 2. Engage with Donors' Passions: Take time to understand the stories and motivations that drive your donors. Express genuine interest in what matters to them, and then naturally align their interests with aspects of your organization's work. This approach not only deepens relationships but also paves the way for future support. These tactics are not just for fundraisers but can be effectively employed by anyone involved in your organization, including those who may be hesitant to ask for donations outright. What are your thoughts on these approaches to fundraising? Do you find them effective within your organization? #FundraisingStrategies #DonorRecognition #Philanthropy #NonprofitFundraising #DPP
