Kacie Rose is doing some of the scariest things she could think and now she's traveling the world, has been interviewed on CNN, and is an inspiration to millions of people.
I met her at a packed venue in Chicago Sunday night, one stop on her U.S. book tour, "You Deserve Good Gelato." She's now living full time in Italy.
Here's some of her wisdom from doing the scariest things:
If you want to grow, do the sh*t that scares you.
Fear, while a gift for many reasons, can also deny you so many things you want.
Failure, despite its bad reputation, is precisely what allows you to learn and grow and adapt.
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is one of strength.
Pay attention to the people who show up for you. The people who show interest in your life will go out of their way to lift you up.
The Italian culture is one that embodies the enjoyment of life - the only thing we truly have one shot at.
In small intricate ways Italians soak up the idea of enjoying life through everyday moments.
Exploring the world, in whatever way you are capable of, is one of the most continuously beneficial gifts you can give yourself.
