Agreed. Thank you for lighting up the cannabis hospitality experience conversation Arend Richard and Sara Stewart. It directly ties into and evolves the cannabis travel and tourism innovation discussion. In the United States, direct travel spending totaled $1.2 trillion in 2022, which produced an economic footprint of $2.6 trillion throughout the county. Modern day hospitality-minded cannabis experience centers intersecting with the US travel economy is a smart strategic direction, for those with the appetite to go above and beyond a low price leader product resident transaction. Those cannabis experience outposts that decide to invest in visitor economy strategies (travel industry partnerships, tourism ecosystem marketing, etc.) and choose to establish themselves as a modern day cannabis attraction in the tourism ecosystem, will differentiate and thrive long term - if executed correctly in a data-driven way. Everyone is going to be so mad when they realize I was right about the future of the cannabis industry. Putting all your eggs in the basket of dispensaries and grows while the real money to be made over the next decade moves to hospitality. Just think about how much a bar makes on one drink with 2 oz of alcohol vs a liquor store selling the whole bottle. Not only can hospitality concepts charge more per gram, this new industry will also shape brand success. The brands that are in front of this new crowd of social consumers (that isn't yet at play!!!) will gain a brand loyalty that was previously unattainable. Just imagine someone saying: "Oh! That's the strain I had at Cirrus Social Club last week and I had the best night. I'll pick some up to try at home." Sorry to tell you cannabis industry, but the days of opening a dispensary and racing each other to the bottom as the only means of sales are over. Now everyone will have to provide a value for customers to want to participate in. You'll have to spend a little more to make it worth their while. Of course a place like Cirrus costs a little more to create. Our end goal isn't to get people in and out buying as much as possible. Our goal is to get people to spend their time with us as much as possible and spending money throughout their experience. I can see the future of cannabis in the next decade. The word #CULTURE is everywhere on dispensary websites. - Even the ones that have no "About Us" page. - Even the ones that say "We're community focused" but don't explain anything about HOW they focus on the community. - Even the ones whose only missions seem to be selling as much weed to as many consumers as they possibly can. 😵 You don't automatically get to associate with sustaining the "culture" if you can't define who you are, why you're here, and what your goals are to give back to the community. Trust me, the last thing cannabis consumers want to read about is how clean your store is or how you carry every single imaginable product. I would NEVER open a dispensary. I would NEVER grow weed. There are professionals in both sectors that are passionate about what they do, and those are the people I want to buy from and support. For me, my passion sits at the intersection of Cannabis & Hospitality. 🚨 CALL TO #POPULIST ACTION! 🚨 Are you in #Connecticut? Do you want to be part of history? Record yourself on video walking into any regulated #cannabis dispensary before January 1st, 2024. Make sure the recording includes a complete point of sale transaction of you buying a high-THC hemp product (say a drink or a pill for example), and that the product label shows that it was manufactured outside of Connecticut. Make sure that there's something in the video that proves you did this during 2023. Bonus points if, after the sale is complete, you ask the cashier why the transaction that just took place is recorded in a separate point of sale system, with separate record keeping apart from BioTrack. Extra bonus points if the producer of the product you purchase has a name comprised of a four-digit number. Godspeed, friends.

It also wouldn’t hurt if every social equity licensee decided not to work with Green Thumb Industries (GTI). There are plenty other brands and new entrants that would love the shelf space. Post signs in dispensaries and updates on social and electronic newsletters, encourage customers to boycott the company, explain the harm they are doing to medical patients, and how they are blocking Black and Brown cannabis businesses from making money when they are already grossing a billion dollars annually. Listing these things publicly in dispensaries as to why GTI’s products will not be ordered or sold makes sense to me. You don’t have to take this lying down. They may have the money to lobby against us, but that won’t matter if no one in Illinois is buying their products.
