**NEVER FORGET HISTORY...ALL OF IT** Please read ALL of this post and the links before commenting. And note that I do not advocate for violence nor lawlessness. Shall we proceed with a bit of context? During Mr. Trump's first campaign and election as President, we saw and heard a lot about the 'RESIST' movement. These people did not like Donald Trump, his agenda nor those who supported and voted for him. Popular media carried their story 24/7/365. Those who disliked the outcome had meetings, angry and sometimes violent protests and displayed yard signs and bumper stickers. They refused to accept the election results and said things like, "He's not MY President." Antifa, BLM, Code Pink and other organizations came on the scene and engaged in obstruction, violence, destruction, riots and subversion. Remember when all of THOSE nice people ^^🙄 ^^ were cancelled, demonized, arrested, tried, fined and imprisoned? And remember when Mr. Trump constantly harrassed, prosecuted and put his political adversaries (like Pres. Obama, VP Joe Biden, Sec'y of State Hillary Clinton, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and George Soros) in JAIL? Yeah, me neither... 😏 Violence is still occurring across the nation today, but we have a different President and administration. Violence by the Left is excused, rationalized and ignored - and those who riot, protest and commit crimes run free, often released without bail or jail. Today, RESIST.org is still alive, well and quite active. Read for yourself what this organization advocates, engages in and supports. HERE'S MY POINT. If and when the leaders of this and other subversive, violent, lawless, anti-American activities and organizations are treated in exactly the same manner under the law as those they so vigorously oppose, things will be 'FAIR.' Constitutional scholar and Harvard Prof. Alan Dershowitz (a lifelong Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter) uses a legal principle called "shoe on the other foot." When you readily apply the standards you approve, support and use for your own purposes to your opposition, then it is fair. But if you apply a standard to others that you are unwilling to apply exactly the same to yourself, then it is unfair. We are told that "no one is above the law." I support that principle and hope that you do, as well. In fact, it is (or should be) the basis of our American system of justice, which is (or should be) subordinate and under the Supreme authority of the US Constitution. Please inform yourselves. And please LEARN BEFORE YOU VOTE, my friends.

#politics I have extensively written about Tucker Carlson’s 2-hour long interview with Russia’s Vladimir Putin on LinkedIn after intently watching it for its geopolitical significance. As the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Christopher Walsh writes in the attached repost, Russia’s, China’s, and in many countries around the world, due process of the law is dismal. The legal system is, for all practical purposes, sham and corrupt. In my view, America’s determination of degree of guilt or innocence depends on your financial capacity and your ability, if you have limited financial capacity to retain expensive legal help, to use the government to obtain justice even if you are not a lawyer, without taking matters into your own hands, by keeping faith in the system and its core values. Basic civics and Lexis Nexis can work wonders for all Americans if only they can dispense with their fear and know their rights. Otherwise, rights gather dust on the shelf and people will lose them if they do not use them. The victim of injustice and of disease is the best guide for his lawyer and doctor. It is they who know their case best. The rest is procedure, diagnosis, treatment, and justice. It takes patience, time, persistence, honesty, and levelheadedness without bitterness but it will work. Vladimir Putin is a wounded animal, wounded by the post-Cold War mismanagement of the West in aspiration to be Roma and Brittania instead of America. Rather than using the due processes of international law, a body of law developed after 1945 with the founding of the United Nations to prevent another disastrous such war, and Russia’s significant presence at the United Nations, he is taking matters into his own hands to obtain vigilante justice because United States has frittered away the good faith the world has put in it after 1989. Go it alone, whether in economic policy or foreign policy, among the community of first among equal sovereign nations, no matter their level of global influence, let alone economic and military power, will not work. Just as there is the rule of law and not men, as John Adams said about the United States, there is also a rule of law and not men among nations. The same principles, form and function, the architecture of governance as in America, also apply everywhere. This equality under international law, its equal application, is what the rest of the world wants. United States must make amends to get there as articulated by George H.W. Bush after 1989. Power, no matter the political or economic or social system, always inevitably flows from the people to their government in the hierarchy of any government. The consequence of the explicit explication of this truth about human nature is United States of America.
"In the United States, reasonable people may question the justice system periodically, and thankfully they have channels like an independent media, civil society, and individual activism to enact reform and right injustices. Unlike the United States, credible due process is doubtful in Russia because the entire system answers to a single man who holds complete and arbitrary power." — Bush Institute's Christopher Walsh Read more on #Russia: https://lnkd.in/gBHS2Zf5

The recent assassination attempt on our former president is a stark reminder of the dangers of political violence. In any democratic society, such acts are entirely unacceptable and must be condemned unequivocally. Political violence, or any form of violence, cannot and should not be tolerated. It is essential that we address our differences through respectful dialogue and adherence to the rule of law. Violence only serves to deepen divisions and weaken the very foundations of our democracy. We must unite in rejecting violence and fostering an environment of peace, understanding, and cooperation. Let's commit to upholding the values that make our society strong and resilient. #NoToViolence #Peace #Democracy #Unity #CondemnViolence #PromotePeace

“Are we entering another age of political violence?” Seemingly yes - but that “political” violence extends further than you may think. An assassination attempt on an American politician as visible and divisive as Donald Trump will clearly dominate the news cycle, but it’s far from unique. Here in Europe, Slovakian prime minister Roberto Fico survived an attempt on his life just a month and a half ago. Yet we also see political motivations behind attacks that occur on non-politicians. Last week it was revealed that the Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger has been under significantly ramped-up protection following an alleged Russian plot on his life (for those who don’t know, Rheinmetall is a significant European defense contractor and thus directly working against Russian objectives in the Ukraine). This will get worse before it has a chance to get better. We as a society are divisive and encourage increasingly extreme views to either side of a given issue. We decline to collaborate when we can fight to win instead. And this polarized atmosphere gives those who are anyway inclined to harm both the means and opportunity to inflict it. I don’t know what the solution is. I certainly don’t advocate a “turn the other cheek” response when faced with violence. But we cannot ferment a culture where this becomes normalized, let alone acceptable. At the same time, we in the security field must be aware that the threat landscape continues to worsen, and react and invest accordingly. https://on.ft.com/4cvlXjz

Political violence is an unequivocal wrong, regardless of one's political beliefs. Today's attempt to assassinate Donald Trump is a stark reminder of this. Violence undermines the very principles of democracy, where disagreements should be resolved through dialogue and cooperation, not through acts of aggression. The memory of the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan in 1981 serves as a somber reminder that such actions are never justified. The only path forward is through unity and collaboration, where all voices are heard and respected. As citizens of the United States, it is our duty to reject violence and work towards constructive solutions. We must remember that our strength lies in our unity, and together we can overcome any challenge. By fostering a culture of political civility and mutual respect, we can ensure a brighter future for all. This nation was built on the foundation of democracy and the rule of law, and it is through these principles that we can achieve lasting progress and peace. #donaldtrump #assassinationattempt #peaceoverviolence #unitedstates #peace

#thinkingoutloud: Nikki Haley is only partially right in her response to the question about the 'what was the main cause of the civil war." The root cause of the civil war was slavery. The impetus of the war began on April 12, 1861, when Confederate troops fired on Fort Sumter in South Carolina's Charleston Harbor, which was the beginning of the Civil War. However, the economics of the system of slavery, the election of Republican President Lincoln in 1860, lack of political control in the south, territorial expansion westward denying entry into the union with slaves, and states rights were issues, too. The southern states wanted to eliminate the federal laws in place to keep slavery. Whereby, the southern states seceded from the union, and that led directly to war. "Presidential hopeful Nikki Haley has been slammed for refusing to say that slavery was the main cause of the Civil War. Haley, the 51-year-old former governor for South Carolina, blundered her way through the question at town hall debate in Berlin, New Hampshire, on Wednesday night. The former UN representative jokingly told the audience member 'well, don't come with an easy question', before claiming that the Civil War was fought for freedom and ideological differences in how governments ought to work. "I think the cause of the Civil War was basically how government was going to run, the freedoms of what people could and couldn't do.' The White House hopeful, currently a distant third place to Donald Trump in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, can then be heard going on a tangent about the limits of government overreach and civil liberties. 'I think it always comes down to the role of government and what the rights of the people are, and I will always stand by the fact that I think government was intended to secure the rights and freedoms of the people. 'It was never meant to be all things to all people. Government doesn't need to tell you how to live your life. 'They don't need to tell you what you can and can't do. They don't need to be a part of your life. They need to make sure that you have freedom. 'We need to have capitalism. We need to have economic freedom. We need to make sure that we do all things so that individuals have the liberties so that they can have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to do or be anything they want to be without government getting in the way.'
