How long have you been with JH? 𝐀: Intake Specialist – 23 years – I schedule the assessment appointments so a lot of times I am the first contact a family has with Juliette’s House. I always try to make sure I am sensitive to how they are feeling and to answer all their questions which can help alleviate any fear they might have about coming to Juliette’s House. 𝐐: What do you wish people understood about children? 𝐀: I wish people knew what a difference it makes to children if you tell them frequently that you love them.  𝐐: What do you do to take the best care of yourself? Great news, everyone! I’m gearing up to start our Take Back Your Life Group program in February, and I’ve received a few emails and notes from you all asking what the Take Back Your Life Group Program is like. Over the next couple weeks I’m offering you a free taste of our program so you can get a sense of what you can get out of being a part of the group. One of the most resonant insights she shared was the notion that "We die according to our personality," a reflection of her deep understanding that the manner in which we approach our final moments is a direct extension of how we’ve lived our lives. This illuminates the concept that experiencing a 'good death' is inherently linked to the essence of having lived a good life. This perspective fosters a compassionate approach towards end-of-life care, emphasizing the need for it to be as personalized and as reflective of the individual's life and personality as possible. It underscores the idea that the dignity of a person’s final journey should mirror the richness of their lived experiences, advocating for a care approach that honors their unique story. Greetings from Aegis Living Fremont! This is Haydee. A long time caregiver at Aegis Living and part time theologian. I’ve heard different members of the team talk about Haydee and her compassion for others. I met her for the first time this week and let’s just say it was nothing short of how the way her peers described her. During my conversation with Haydee, these were my 3 takeaways I wanted to share with you: 1. Joy is a choice. 2. Life is fragile and short. We have little time here on earth and what we do with that time is important. 3. Service starts with knowing our convictions about what and who we serve. Haydee knows that one day she too will age and her body will slow down. And she knows that she will one day need the same help she gives to our residents. That doesn’t scare Haydee. In fact, it calls her into action. To respond urgently, courageously, and with compassion. May Haydee serve as a reminder and a call to serve joyfully, willingly, and with humility.
