On my personal journey, I've found the 8 Paradoxes of Leadership to be particularly insightful. They have been my companions during daily dog walks, where I often pause to jot down thoughts and quotes that resonate deeply with me. One quote that stands out is, 'What have we learned that needs to be unlearned?' This question challenges us to rethink what we believe and adapt to a constantly evolving world. A key insight for me is the distinction between 'Common Leaders' and 'Uncommon Leaders.' Paradox 6 emphasizes that Uncommon Leaders are both Teachers and Learners. While a common leader might think, 'I have more experience, so I know best,' an uncommon leader believes, 'Because I'm older, I must continue to adapt.' Close to another week ending with the outlook of a great weekend. My #proudfriday reflections over the past two weeks and the meaningful experiences I have been privileged to have. One of the highlights has been the opportunity to connect with new individuals who have joined our organisation. Each new connection brings fresh perspectives and ideas, enriching our community and fostering a collaborative spirit. It’s inspiring to see how these relationships are already beginning to enhance our work environment. I’ve also had the privilege of supporting our head of managers as they develop their leadership teams. Witnessing their commitment to growth and their willingness to think differently has been truly motivating. It’s exciting to see how these leaders are shaping their teams and paving the way for innovative approaches within our organisation. On a personal note, I am particularly proud to share that I will be giving blood for the first time. (scary) It’s a small act which can have a significant impact. It’s a reminder that we can all make a difference, no matter how small the action may seem. Leading from the front, leading by example As I reflect on this week (a few days earlier for my #ProudFriday reflection), I am honoured to work for an organization that not only encourages development but embodies it. Shout out to my boss, Lauren, for achieving a 'Distinction' in the Chartered Managers Institute Level 7 Leader Apprenticeship!   Lauren exemplifies true leadership, demonstrating personal growth and dedication to her team and peers. Her hard work and success set a powerful example for all of us, showing what it means to lead by example. As a parent, she is also shaping the next generation with the right values and behaviours, nice one Lauren. As I write the nerves are beginning to kick in for the England vs Netherlands this evening, I remember Euro 96 and would like that result please as a birthday pressie.   But whatever the result I have tomorrow off thanks to ManpowerGroup affording me an extra day off because it’s my birthday.
