What I Learned from Rosie, My Canine Confidante This past Sunday, I said my final farewell to Rosie, a constant presence in my life for almost seven years. While she may have been just a dog to some, Rosie was a beacon of empathy, unconditional love, and innate wisdom. From Rosie, I learned: 🐾 Empathy is a universal language. Rosie had an innate ability to sense my feelings, whether I was ecstatic or sad. Her empathetic nature reminded me of the power of understanding and connecting with others without uttering a word. 🐾 Unconditional love is transformative. No matter my mistakes, no matter the day, Rosie greeted me with the same wagging tail and boundless love. It’s a lesson about judging less and loving more. 🐾 Live in the moment. Rosie had an unmatched zeal for the present. Whether it was chasing a ball outside, her impeccable timing every night as we settled in to watch a show to bring out her favorite squeaky toy, or simply laying by my side, she was wholly present, reminding me to savor every moment. Rosie’s legacy is not just in our shared memories but in the life lessons she instilled in me. While she may have left this world, her teachings remain, pushing me to be a more compassionate, understanding, and present individual in my personal and professional life. In honoring Rosie, I encourage us to embody her principles. Because in the end, it’s not just about business strategies or networking skills but about the authentic connections and unconditional love we share. #empathy #wecare #authentic #connections

When we deny a part of our identity, we limit our potential. It’s the same when we put a lid on an emotion; we are essentially suppressing the expression of all emotions. Weaving Relationships with Love In our fast-paced lives, we wear multiple hats, juggling countless responsibilities as employees, parents, spouses, and children. Amidst this whirlwind, we often overlook a transformative force: the art of listening. When we listen without judgment or rush to offer advice, we embody pure love. This simple yet powerful act has the potential to heal and strengthen our connections, whether in personal or professional realms. Picture a father, balancing work, parenting, and caring for his elderly parents. He takes a moment to sit and truly listen – to his children's dreams, his wife's concerns, and his parents' stories. In that shared moment, his unwavering attention becomes a testament of love and support. Now, think of a dedicated employee who, beyond her professional commitments, makes time to genuinely listen to her colleagues' challenges and aspirations. Her empathetic presence fosters trust and collaboration within her team. This act transcends roles; it's about being present, empathetic, and understanding. It acknowledges that we all carry a tapestry of responsibilities. Let's pledge to listen more – to our colleagues, our loved ones, and to ourselves. By nurturing these bonds, we create a world where the profound power of listening and the purity of love can genuinely heal. #Listening #Empathy #Love #WorkLifeBalance #Relationships #linkedinpost

Relationship Educator 🎓Creator of 'The Healthy Relationship Blueprint' 🧭 Improving the quality of Relationships 🤗 Deepening connection 👩❤️👨 Building long-term happiness and fulfilment 😀
MOTHER'S DAY? How about this for a different approach that isn't a forced Hallmark Day? We don't get to have a holiday or day off from our responsibilities and the things we do when we're parents. Even when we're sick, we keep on going. Feeling unseen and unappreciated can deepen the chasm of disconnection between partners. It is our 'Friendship' component within our intimate relationship where we nurture connection. It's surprisingly easy to forget the importance of nurturing our friendships within intimate relationships as time goes by. Here’s an invitation to breathe new life into your connection! One powerful yet often overlooked way to do this is by expressing daily appreciation. The simple act of acknowledging the little things—like the chores your partner takes on, their support, or the love they offer—can bridge gaps of disconnection. Why not express your gratitude out loud, leave a thoughtful note, or send a loving message during your day? Such gestures of appreciation not only make your partner feel seen and valued but also create a nurturing environment, enhancing the bond you share. Let's not take each other for granted; let’s celebrate our partners every day! Don't leave it to a 'Hallmark Event' when we can feel appreciated and seen on a regular basis. It's in those small things often that we create great things in the long run. #emotionalintelliegence #relationshipcoach #communicationskills #healthyrelationships #retunelife

Father, husband, human, lifestyle adjustment specialist. NYPD Sergeant and Fitness,Nutrition and Resilience coordinator for the NYPD. Loser of over 175 pounds, formerly miserable person, now dedicated to helping others.
When was the last time you asked yourself who you really are? . No, like who you REALLY are, not this fake mask we wear to fit in and avoid being seen or judged by our coworkers or impress people around us who we don’t even like. . We get so caught up in this identity of being a “cop” we lose sight of the most important thing, US and our humanity and allow the job to change us more than it needs to. . The job WILL change you, for sure, but it’s up to us how much we let it. . Do you still feel love? . Do you still have external passions? . Do you talk about anything besides work? . Do you like the same things everyone around you does? Have the same feelings? Triggers? . Do you love yourself? What’s your proof? What are you doing for yourself to prove it? . Do the work, figure it out now before it’s too late. . #selflove #selfcompassion #resilience #identity #policing #coplife #publicspeaking #firstresponder #firstresponders #selfcare #helpyourself #emotionalintelligence

Who dines at your table matters At my table, I am surrounded by a circle of trusted and loyal friends who bring joy, support, and positivity to every gathering. They are individuals who have proven their friendship over time, demonstrating their reliability, honesty, and genuine care for my well-being. These friends possess qualities such as empathy, kindness, and a strong sense of integrity, making them a source of comfort and reassurance. We share laughter, deep conversations, and celebrate each other's successes, creating an environment of mutual respect and understanding. However, amidst the circle of true friends, it is essential to exercise caution and be mindful of individuals who may not have our best interests at heart. These "bad friends" may exhibit traits such as manipulation, deceit, or selfishness, seeking personal gain at the expense of others. It is crucial to be aware of their presence and maintain healthy boundaries to protect oneself from potential harm or negative influences. While it is important to approach relationships with an open mind, it is equally vital to be discerning and prioritize our well-being when identifying those who may not have our best intentions in mind. #friends #coaches #friendships #friendshipmatters

Love is a funny thing. It can be something you never plan for, and it can be something that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. But what happens when two people meet on a first date? Is it attraction? Chemistry? Both? Attraction is a funny thing. It’s the spark of an initial connection, the way you can’t take your eyes off someone, or the way you can feel the energy between two people when they’re together. It’s something that can’t be explained, but you just know it’s there. Chemistry is a little different. It’s the emotional connection two people have, the way they can talk about anything and everything, and the way they can make each other laugh. It’s a special bond that can only be created over time. So, what’s the difference between attraction and chemistry? Well, it’s simple: Attraction is the initial spark, and chemistry is the long-term connection. And while both are important, it can be hard to find both in one person. That’s why The Blindspot Project wants to help you find attraction and chemistry. We believe that everyone deserves to find someone who will make them laugh, challenge them, and light up the room the moment they walk in. So, why not give us a try? Who knows — you might just find the one you’ve been looking for. #dating #houston #relationships #connection #trust #insecurity #love #intimacy #honesty #selfworth #vulnerability #openness #communication #romance #fulfillment #confidence #support #awareness #community #relationshipgoals #relationshipadvice #connection #heartbreak #blindspotproject #datingdayton #daytonohio

“What if she doesn’t like me?” - my old boss, Sarah the Critic whispered to me. “I still like myself, no matter what,” I calmly replied, almost stumbling as I realised I actually 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 the truth of my words. I boldly strode onto stage and smiled, to which Michelle “MACE” Curran beamed right back with a smile that reached the eyes. 🤩 “Cool hair!” I heard her speak. Whoa, this bad@ass thinks I’m cool, 𝙢𝙚!? We quickly hit it off and I had to be cognisant of not monoplosing her time. Since then we’ve become good friends, mentors to each other and supporters during challenging moments, for which I’m extremely grateful. What if I had not walked up to say hello? Where would I be now? Who is to say, we can’t know the outcome of actions we might have or didn’t take. What I 𝗰𝗮𝗻 tell you is this… It’s often better than you ever imagined it could be. You never know who that stranger might become to you. You never know the impact you will have on someone else. Work on liking and accepting yourself first. This allows you to be fully expressed, which means people meant for you will be drawn to your energy. It also means your happiness and personal experiences don’t rest on tenuous and often impossible conditions from the external world and others. Know thyself, accept thyself, love thyself. From that point go out and be curious! Learn about others, build bonds that may last a day, a season or a lifetime. You’re behind the controls. You might as well have some fun as you do the barrel roll😎😉 Link to MACE’s original post in comments 🙌🏼 #networking #relationships #friendships #strongertogether #bebold #curiosity #awareness #havemorefun #beyou

Showing up authentically with friends and family is the cornerstone of meaningful relationships. Authenticity means being your true self, unapologetically, and without pretence. It's about sharing your joys, fears, and vulnerabilities openly, without the fear of judgment. When you're authentic with your loved ones, you foster trust and deeper connections. You create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe to be themselves. Authenticity also means actively listening, empathizing, and supporting each other without hidden agendas. In a world where masks can be common, choosing to be authentic with friends and family brings authenticity and warmth to your bonds, making them stronger and more enduring. #authenticifrienships #showingupbringsdeeperconnections. #safetyamongstfriendsandfamily #greaterconnections #greaterconversations #meaningfulconnections

10moThere is no coincidence that Dog spelled backwards is God...full of unconditional love, empathy and acceptance. Military housing is not for the faint of heart...and our dogs are better than therapy and help us daily. Lily (my dog) and I send you love and strength as you navigate life without her. Just know that she occupies a permanent place built into your heart and that you are blessed to have loved such a special being.
