Sure it's annoying. But...it works. Scarcity. Take something away from folks. Or make it very limited. And people take action. There are so many ways to input ethical scarcity into your business. Crumbl the cookie company has secret treats each week. Only available that week. The unboxing videos drive people into the store. Companies like Soul Cycle offered limited clothing runs. They kept selling out. Coaches can offer limited seats (after all, you can only coach so many people at one time!). Limited special bonuses (you can only deliver them sometimes). Or limited extended payment plans or pricing incentives. Love it or hate it, you've probably bought something because of a scarcity incentive recently. For entrepreneurs, a strong personal brand helps others understand what you’re about and what you promote. 

Product licensing is one of the quickest ways to commercialize a product idea. In a licensing agreement, the product developer grants another party (typically a company), permission to produce, market, and distribute the product, in exchange for royalties. This mutually beneficial arrangement is a win-win for both parties! The step that product developers struggle with the most is reaching out to unfamiliar individuals at companies that are a good fit for licensing. This can be an intimidating task! Understanding the dos and don’ts before initiating contact can help ease concerns. When reaching out to a potential licensee… ✅ DO: - Understand your potential licensee’s target audience - Ask for permission to share your marketing materials - Be clear with your communication - Follow up - Have confidence 🚫DON’T: - Procrastinate reaching out - Pitch your idea right away - Pressure a potential licensee for a quick decision - Be overly persistent - Let rejection stop you from reaching out Building strong relationships is key in the world of product licensing.
