To know what size lift is right for you boat, you need an accurate measurement of the width (beam) and length of your boat. Here’s how to measure your boat. To measure your beam, find the widest section of your boat. Start at the port with measuring tape, and measure from the left (port) to the right (starboard). This is your vessel’s width. To measure your length, start at the tip of the bow with measuring tape and measure straight back to the stern without including outboard motors or brackets in the measurement.
