There are a lot of challenges out there when it comes to producing enough nutritious food for a growing population with decreasing resources and volatile climatic conditions. Although agriculture certainly does have an impact on the environment, this amazing industry can also be more and more of the solution we all need. How may you ask? Innovation is absolutely key (in combination with farmer know how and grit), with gene editing being one of the most promising techs that's here now and has the potential to scale fast. How often does being positive about something lead to a negative outcome? I don’t know the exact answer here, but why not continue to hope for and believe in the best? This way of thinking is applicable in every area of life – personal, academic, sports, business, you name it. Well, this is a pretty cool marketing idea that Alaska Airlines has launched to push forward sustainable travel. Allowing travelers to directly participate in its development while also rewarding them in the process is wonderful. Not only does it raise awareness of sustainable aviation fuel, but it does a great job of incentivizing people to get behind it and support it. Causes gain more importance to people when they have an active hand in helping them! #SAF #Sustainability #Ecofriendly

Imagine a battery that can be used thousands of times, is inexpensive, and holds a charge for an entire week. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, you’re wrong. It’s real! Usually, batteries would consist of zinc, another cheap and abundant material, but would ultimately drain in hours. The new battery at hand, made with lignin, will also be able to retain 80% of its functionality after being used 8,000 times. Right now, this battery is small in size. But the next step is to develop batteries similar to those in cars. #Sustainability #CleanPower #Innovation
