FULL DISCLOSURE: I've asked a lot of this network as of late. There's been a lot of "who should we know," or "what do you recommend..." And every time, you all have shown up 👏 That being said, it's not my normal or most comfortable state to be asking more than giving. I hope you all will continue on this journey, and KNOW that the promise of what we're creating will far outweigh the asks that we've been inundating you with. To everything there is a season - turn, turn, turn. With that Katie Louise Mullins & I are headed to LA next week (Wed 1/24 - Sat 1/27) to spread the word and raise the funds for the I AM Docuseries. In the month since, we've: 1. Launched a site & campaign within 24 hours (thanks for the nudge, errrr, push, Angela Fusaro, MD, MBA); secured 17% of our initial development funds within 2 weeks. Note, there's still a LONG ways to go, and we still need you. 2. Hosted 4 funding webinars w/ 30% conversion rate (#5 tomorrow - come join the fun if you've not already) 3. Secured a literal media legend (more to come) as a series EP. 4. Secured talent (to name a few!) It’s 7am and I’m sitting on a plane headed to Austin, Texas with my team for #SXSW where The Hope Booth will be a featured social impact exhibitor in the Creative Industries Expo! Simultaneously, we have another team headed to Portland, Oregon for NTEN for #24NTEN as a social impact exhibitor in their Collaborative Art Space. Two Teams. Two Cities. One Mission. MAKE HOPE & HELP FREE & ACCESSIBLE TO ALL. Sure, we desire to walk away with new donors and sponsors to advance our work; we’re a nonprofit, that’s always a goal! …but truth be told, this is more than an event to us. Our heartbeat is that, individuals who are desperately searching for hope and an opportunity to feel seen, heard, loved, and valued would stumble across The Hope Booth. Our heartbeat is that, one of these days at one of these events at any given moment, someone would have a hope-filled encounter at Booth #645 or in the Collaborative Art Space that would save their life and becoming a marking moment in their journey forever. Our heartbeat is that, the person who has been too afraid to ask for help or too weary to search for help would encounter the local help that The Hope Booth offers them without them having to do the heavy lifting. Our heartbeat is that, the person who is questioning the value of their existence would choose to stay just a little longer… Our heartbeat is that, what we have spent years creating behind scenes would prove to not just be impressive, but impactful and dare I say; life saving. Craig's message was clear: having a platform and the ability to make a difference creates not just an opportunity, but also a responsibility. At the Rotary District 9640 Conference, Craig Foster AM shared his inspiring journey through football, his broadcasting career with SBS, and his involvement in the Matildas' landmark compensation deal. Also, his recounting of the campaign to save Hakeem al-Araibi, a young man wrongfully imprisoned in Thailand (check out the story here: https://lnkd.in/g_WbNpuX). Craig's message resonates deeply with our mission at Rotaract Australia. Rotaractors in Australia have access to resources change the world, accelerate their careers and make meaningful connections through: 1. A global network of 1.4 million community leaders, business professionals from all industries, charity founders and more through Rotary International. 2. The freedom to engage in thousands of existing charitable projects in all areas of service or even launch our own project with the support of their club and the wider Rotary network. 3. The opportunity to connect socially with like-minded people who share a passion to do more. Currently, there are fewer than 1,000 Rotaractors in Australia accessing these opportunities. In line with Craig's mindset, it is our responsibility to make sure that ALL young Australians know that these opportunities are open to them and make Rotaract accessible to all. There is no reason why there shouldn't be 20,000 or 100,000 or more Rotarators in Australia. > If your university doesn't have a Rotaract club, reach out. > If you run a youth centre that isn't connected to a Rotaract club, reach out. > If you're a local council representative and would like to know more, reach out. Over the next financial year, I am dedicated to spreading this message and expanding our reach. We have something really great here that should be accessed by MANY more young Australians. Do things that mean something. You will always do your best because you simply won’t settle for less. In these last months coming to the close of 2023, I have had the pleasure of reminding myself of this. Most Recently it was a project I completed with my #projectmanagement Class at Hult International Business School here in London. Where my class was set to plan and implement 6 separate projects to raise money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). I am proud to say in total we raised over 5k in 5 weeks, and I couldn't be more fulfilled. We’re looking for values-aligned partners and sponsors for our upcoming Culture Impact Lab in May! We have 2 ways for sponsors to make an impact: 1. Sponsor an event activation - our event is small (with less than 100 people) and action oriented. Participants range from c-suite to emerging leaders and change makers who are joining to create change and build a new world of work and culture. We still have sponsorship slots and in-kind sponsors for all of the great features of our event that focus on engaging, nourishing, and enabling this community. 2. Sponsor a participant or team to join - with a student rate or $850 and a standard rate starting at $1500, sponsors have already made it possible for us to invite 10 additional people to the event who wouldn’t have otherwise been able to swing the cost through our tuition grant. These folks are Founders, early stage entrepreneurs, non-profit leaders, self funded, or recently laid off due to organizations deprioritizing culture and DEI efforts.
