More than once I have seen job postings for freelancers, where the 'tech challenge', whose sole purpose is to give an idea of the freelancer skill level, is: - to actually build the entire app or an extremely large portion of it... Job posters - stop trying to get people to do work for free! Tech challenge is a tech challenge, should not have anything to do with the app you want build -> after hiring the freelancer.

Especially beginners wonder... "what place can I have in this world and industry if experts are being laid off or rejected in the hiring process?" Hiring Teams, If a full time freelancer applies to your permanent role and you are wary of hiring them because you don’t think they will be able to switch… Talk to them. Usually if a full time freelancer, especially one with 5 or more years of doing so, wants to apply for a permanent role, they know what they’re doing, and why. Being a freelancer is exhilarating, enriching, and full of opportunities. Being a freelancer is also exhausting, time-consuming, and expensive. Its rewards can be many, but the challenges often match or outweigh them. Many of us don’t desire to do it forever. It really can burn out the soul. ✍️ Things I wish I had done when I started freelancing... 👀 If I could go back, I would never again do a free test task for a random person reaching out to me on the internet, unless I made sure it was from an authenticated or reputable company. 📓 If I could go back, I would be more cautious about whom I send my CV to. My CV is a priceless brief representation of all my efforts and work, including the tools used and projects developed. 🏓 If I could go back, to get into the hiring process, I would only engage with tech recruiters who provide productive feedback to applicants in any case. The data transmission structure between the applicant and the recruiter should be like a two-way road, step by step.
