This is what I’m talking about! AUSactive leading with action straight to Canberra. When we all pull together as an industry and put our collective weight behind an initiative, incredible things happen. MillionMoves on the Sunshine Coast achieved over 2 million moves from a demographic who don’t use our gyms and facilities. Remarkably, 70% of participants reported having at least one chronic illness that could be improved with exercise. I’m proud to be a board member of an organization that is tackling these issues head-on. The Fisher. Here in Australia, 75% of US adults between 18 and 64 do not meet the minimum requirements for a healthy level of physical activity and muscle strengthening. To combat this trend, 4 electorates went head-to-head in the inaugural AUZA Active Million Moves Challenge between May 1 and May 21. Keep listen to this member Fenner alongside the member for Wide Bay who was a champion member for Fairfax and member for Longman. I encourage the people of Fisher and their electorates. To get out and get active. And they did. Fisher locals led the way taking out the award for the most active electorate Hear I. A huge thank you to Jets Boca Arena, Nutrition warehouse L SKD lifts, strength and conditioning club, Pilates and Sippy Downs, Beerwah Golf Club, Caloundra Indoor Stadium, Rackley swimming, Kawana, Caloundra basketball, NRG Yoga, you BX Caloundra, the station and so many others for your support. We are hoping to roll this program out to the 151 electorates next year. This is a, this is a modern day life unit. We're using tech and I want to encourage all my parliamentary colleagues next year to keep an eye out for it because it's really good for us and good for our electorates. It's good for our people to get active. We can't let the member for Fenner win it as he won the the the Fit for Office championship, but they keep an eye out for it. And let's get into it next member.

Might be worthwhile considering teaming up with parkrun Australia who have been working with government and medical professionals to prescribe exercise - in particular parkrun to our population with incredible success. parkrun have been working on this in Australia and the UK for many years also - just an idea. Amazing way to bridge the gap between fitness and health. Making sedentary people move, and hopefully stick with it after the challenge. Exercise is medicine!

Jetts is proud to support the AUSactive initiative Million Moves. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Wellbeing (ABS,2022) “It is estimated that 75% of adults aged 18–64 do not meet both the physical activity component and the muscle-strengthening component of the World Health Organisation Guidelines for physical activity.” With the mission to help overcome such a staggering figure, AUSactive is on a mission to encourage greater physical activity among Australians. They are starting by motivating the Sunshine Coast and Moreton City communities in the electorates of Fisher, Fairfax, and Longman, extending out to Moreton Bay and Bribie Island, to collectively complete 1 million moves. Jetts clubs of Noosa, Baringa, Bli Bli, Sippy Downs, Forest Glen, Maroochydore, Burpengary, Gympie, Caloundra, Peregian Springs, Coolum, Mooloolaba, Narangba, Nambour and Kawana are backing this initiative by opening their clubs to anyone who pledges to take part between the 1st and 21st May.
