📢 Private Equity Career Path: Private Equity Analyst Straight out of university and without previous full-time experience. They're the rookies, but just as vital to the team as any seasoned Associate. They're in the thick of it all, from hunting down deals to reviewing potential investments, and even keeping an eye on portfolio companies. While an Associate working on a deal will build an entire financial model, an Analyst help with specific tasks alongside that. That could be call duty, data combing, and assisting with certain research and paperwork. Age: fresh university graduates, usually aged 22-25. Salary + Bonus: Your wallet might feel a bit lighter as a PE Analyst compared to an IB Analyst. Expect the ballpark of EUR70,000 - EUR120,000. Carry: unlikely. Dear connections, I like to share my recent work as capital market analyst intern at Tradeshala . Introduction: This research examines the impact of Non-farm Payroll (NFP) news releases on the price of Gold (XAUUSD) within a 30-minute timeframe. NFP, a monthly statistic, reports the number of newly employed individuals in the US, excluding the farming industry. Methodology: ·      Since NFP is a USD-centric indicator, its effect on Gold typically exhibits a negative correlation. Positive NFP news tends to strengthen the USD, putting downward pressure on Gold prices (XAUUSD). ·      Conversely, negative NFP news often weakens the USD, potentially leading to a rise in Gold prices. ·      I analyzed data from the past two years, focusing on the release times of NFP reports. Two scenarios were evaluated: ·      Case 1: Actual vs. Forecast Data - This scenario compares the actual NFP figures with analyst forecasts. ·      Case 2: Actual vs. Previous Data - This scenario compares the actual NFP figures with the previous month's data. The analysis aimed to determine which scenario provides a more reliable indicator for predicting the impact on Gold prices. Results and Practical Application: ·      The hypothesis testing concluded that Change 1 (Actual - Forecast) data offers a more reliable indicator compared to Change 2 (Actual - Previous) data. ·      This finding suggests that focusing on the difference between the actual NFP figures and analyst forecasts can be a more effective strategy for identifying potential trading opportunities and managing risk during NFP news releases. Overall, this internship at Tradeshala has been an invaluable experience. It has provided me with the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience in the Forex and Commodity markets, and solidify my passion for trading. We all know entry-level work is notoriously hard to come by. Many hiring managers expect fresh college grads to come into a role with several years of experience. Now thanks to #AI, entry-level jobs are on the chopping block. The New York Times looked at the finance industry to see how AI is being leveraged to reduce the drudgery of entry-level analyst work. It found that: “The jobs most immediately at risk are those performed by analysts at the bottom rung of the investment banking business, who put in endless hours to learn the building blocks of corporate finance, including the intricacies of mergers, public offerings and bond deals. Now, A.I. can do much of that work speedily and with considerably less whining.” I think this is a big deal. Finance is the number one field of study for college kids. CNBC reported that the most popular career path for Gen Z isn't becoming a doctor or an engineer -- it's going into finance. Now what's going to happen when millions of indebted college grads enter the job market and there's no entry-level work to be had?
