As a lifelong car guy, I was surprised when I fell in love with electric vehicles. And it wasn't because of government policies or political beliefs. It's because I drive one. And as CEO of Ford Motor Company, I see how they can improve the lives of our customers. Electric vehicles remove daily hassles and remind us why we love to drive. In my 40 years developing vehicles, one thing I've learned is that you never want to be on the wrong side of customers and what matters in their lives.

Here come the serious losses for Ford Motor Company, and on the bright side, it's also a chance to get into an EV truck at a decent price if you're interested (between discounts and subsidies). What I'm hearing from the truck community is that everyone's waiting to see what shakes out in the hybrid space with multiple models and approaches on the way, and my spies tell me General Motors is prepping a serious hybrid challenger having backed off of truck EVs. Also, there’s keen interest in solid state battery tech that Toyota Motor Corporation is developing, as it would move the EV scene for trucks fast forward. I did chuckle with Ford's selection of this picture to promote the sale, since this is what the Lightning absolutely fails at, unless you're dropping the boat in the water down the street from your home. On a recent trip to the Ford dealer, looking for hybrid Mavericks, they were desperately tying to sell me a Mustang Mach-E in the low $30's which I know is a major loss — what is it, like a $50K sticker price? Of course, no hybrid Mavericks to be found anywhere 😭 without a special "market adjustment" of $10K+. Follow the money 💸 people. #ev #evtrucks #evdiscounts #automotiveindustry #automotive #phev #hev #hybrid

In the automotive world, nothing is ever a smooth ride, as there a always a possibility of 𝘀𝗵*𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴😬 Ford Motor Company, the giant automaker, made a bold statement on Friday, 1st September 2023, that it will be recalling 169,000 U.S. vehicles to replace its rear view cameras and update software. Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles | Transformational Leader | Bringing years of experience in elevating performance, enhancing CX, and driving strategic growth
I am a lifelong BMW owner (except for some early Ford Escorts that I loved). However, upon some urging from friends, I “drove” my first Tesla today in Full Self-Driving mode. My reactions, in order, were: Confused, Nervous, Intrigued, Excited. It’s a very different experience and has me contemplating how we train drivers for this new world. One pedal driving, self-steering cars, buttons not handles. That’s to say nothing of the changing driving conditions: more bike and pedestrian lanes, flexible flow express lanes, road sharing with larger public transit in cities and suburbs. DMV’s across the country should be rethinking the fundamentals of driver education now if we are going to our safe drivers on the roads tomorrow. #dmv

I’m curious about how the Mach-E compares to the F-150 Lightning in terms of demand and performance. The F-150 Lightning’s demand might not be surprising, considering the significant difference between vehicles originally built as EVs and those retrofitted. However, the Lightning’s success is hindered by recent serious concerns about the reliability of the F-150 Lightning, potentially affecting the overall reputation of the F-150 series. These reliability issues likely stem from the Lightning being a retrofit, a strategy that might seem like a desperate move to enter the EV truck market. Ford’s decision to extend its legacy by rebranding “Lightning” to represent electrification, rather than acceleration and overall performance, may not only confuse but also alienate long-time F-150 enthusiasts. As a Ford enthusiast myself, I found the use of “Mustang” for the Mach-E and “Lightning” for the F-150 EV particularly disheartening. It felt like a betrayal of the values and heritage that these names have traditionally stood for in the Ford lineup. Overall, could this situation be a result of rushed execution driven by the fear of being left behind in the EV race? I wonder how this might affect Ford’s strategy moving forward?

🚗💔 Ford's EV Stunner: Jim Farley Halts Production Amid Uncertain Demand! ⚡🔧 In a shocking turn of events, Ford CEO Jim Farley has pressed pause on the entire production of their EV fleet, including the highly anticipated Lightning model. 🛑🌩️ Despite the initial hype surrounding the Lightning's potential success, it seems the demand for electric vehicles hasn't met expectations. The consequence? Job losses for numerous Ford employees and a shift back to traditional gas cars to meet current market demands. ⛽🚗 This unexpected pivot raises questions about the trajectory of the electric vehicle market and the challenges faced by even established players like Ford. EV's are getting a bad rap these days. We have had a Ford Mustang Mach E for almost three years and really love it. I proposed an article to my local newspaper (The Beverly Review) on the pros and cons of driving an EV in Chicago and they published it. What do you think about EVs? #Ford #mustangmache #electricvehicles #ev #thebeverlyreview
