As we ramp up production for F-150 Lightning, we've added a third crew and are expanding the size of the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center by more than 50%. Here’s more on how we're working hard to increase production to 150,000 per year next fall. #FordMotorCompany #F150Lightning #BuiltFordProud #RougeElectricVehicleCenter #REVC #ElectricVehicles #EVs
Instead of increasing production of these trucks, Ford Motor Company should be working to figure out how to make it’s battery range better in cold climates, and while it’s being used like a truck (towing and hauling) because at present, they are nearly useless in these situations. These trucks will never offset the amount of carbon emissions that were put into the atmosphere to produce them, let alone to generate the electricity to power them. I really don’t know why anyone would buy one over an Eco-Boost powered F-150 which can tow and haul more than any other 1/2 ton truck on the market, gets +/- 1000km to a tank of fuel and costs thousands less…
I sold my FORD stock since Jim and company cannot see the forest from the trees. Bring Maverick production to the states and run the factory 24/365 and no more hybrid cuts (that is what people want (MY 23 orders sold out in 5 days 76% hybrid and 24% ecoboost) but Ford can only produce 36% Hybrid. Toyota /GM/ Dodge will pick up the slack soon. I waited a year for my 22 Maverick Hybrid and it Was worth the wait only because there was no competition. That will change soon.
I don't believe the technology is out there yet to be making trucks or electric cars. Everyone I've meet with electric cars wishes they never bought one. And this F-150 is no exception. And in California it still cost the same if not more for registration. It takes way to long to charge. And how do you think that charging station is powered. Not by clean energy. But by diesel engines. Ill stay with my gas vehicle.
SURE WOULD BE NICE IF I COULD GET MINE SHIPPED BUILT AND IN DEARBORN FOR A MTH
Kudos Jim! Go Ford!
Will Ford also do something about these eye-gouging markups? In my area, F150 Lightnings are sitting on lots because none are under $100k!! I was at the dealership this past Saturday, and they had 7 of them. None are reasonably priced. Further, the Pro variant was nowhere to be found. The sales rep called it a Rainbow Unicorn, as he didn't believe it exists! He'd never seen one in real life, only in marketing pictures.
I applaud Fords efforts to prioritize “ Renewable Energy “ and green technologies that are manufactured in the Ford line up. We need a cost effective , durable and sustainable Electric Pick ups in commercial fleets . I belive by utilizing EV pick ups in the commercial fleet market it will build confidence in the retail markets and increase Customer confidence in consideration of crossing over into a EV Pick up for personal transportation. It’s going to be a tuff nut to crack here in Texas. We love our Ford pick up trucks and our oil field workers. Cant wait to see the F- 250 and F-350 lighting ?
Hmmm. Is lithium or any of the minerals in a battery renewable? Does the carbon used in making these vehicles offset by the usage of them? Not by a longshot. Keep virtue signaling sheep.
So I looked at a new Maverick yesterday, in what universe is $39k affordable to middle class America.
What good is a truck you can’t effectively tow with? BIG MISTAKE!
