𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲 (No pun intended) 10 years ago I was invited as one of the few female leaders in the automotive industry to talk to kindergarten kids as part of an early-stage "empowerment" education program in Germany I asked girls and boys between 4 and 6 what they wanted to become when they grew up. 🧑🚒 👨⚕️ 👮 Most of the boys said firemen, policemen, doctors. 👸 Most of the girls said princess, one "odd" girl said "Angela Merkel", and everyone laughed and made fun of her. Back then, most of these girls saw their dads go to work every morning, and their mums brought them to school and took care of the household and cook for the whole family. I bet today the answers would be very different... Great Ad CooperVision spotted in Singapore! I was so proud at my mom ! Back then, I was the only kid in my class whose mom wasn’t waiting outside the school gate to pick her up ! Instead i walked to my grandparents place, called my mother first thing to let her know of my day, and saw her when she was done. So grateful she was full of energy, loved her job and didn’t nitpick her children’s lives / helicopter them ! Hallelujah!

Jingjin, 100% true, the world and careers are a wide open space now where diversity, equity and inclusion are taught at a young age. Love seeing an American owned company understand the audience they're trying to reach and tailor the advertisement accordingly and consciously!

Oh wow - I've never seen an ad like that in Asia so its nice to see advertisers being more conscious too. I agree with you Jingjin Liu, about how we shape who we see with roles. Even a Google search further reinforces it. I've been trying to intentionally pick books for my little one that shows women in lead roles too.

Nice Post Jingjin Liu I agree with you, elevating little girls to pursue careers traditionally dominated by men is not just about breaking stereotypes; it's about unlocking a world of diverse perspectives and talents. What a man can do, a woman can do better; I use my wife as an example because she outperforms me in most areas. By encouraging women in fields like STEM, leadership, and beyond, we pave the way for innovation, progress, and a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Let's nurture potential without boundaries.
