“𝙄’𝙢 𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨!” This is a common thing I say as I work with many young people in the corporate world. And it’s a fantastic conversation opener. I also think that it’s a great way for me to keep learning. Take my team at the Jollibee Group of Companies, where I am the Global Responsible Sourcing Consultant. I hired and built this team from scratch starting September 2023. They are vibrant, energetic, idealistic and resilient. I love that about them. And I am proud of them. ⭐What I learn from working with them: ↳Tech savvy skills that make the work easier ↳Fresh, eye opening perspective on issues ↳Creativity to work around problems ⭐And these are what they learn from me: ↳Adopting an agile mindset ↳Driving standards of excellence ↳Building relationships with different stakeholders We learn from each other despite the generational divide. Usually, it is rare for companies to prioritize improving employees' communication skills for their well-being, but airvon’s training was a standout experience. Choosing Carnelian proved to be the perfect decision. The training honed our verbal articulation, active listening, and non-verbal communication skills. Additionally, it offered valuable insights into persuasive communication and adapting to diverse audiences. One of the major takeaways from this workshop was, to never stop learning and keep on improving yourself. When you stop, you lose the purpose of life. Twice a year our team gets together for the day. We have breakfast and catch up on everything going on in and outside of work - I love this part 😁 When I thought back to our last meeting, I realised that not enough of our team get to show off their presentation skills 🤣 So this time when I approached some of the team to talk about their roles in Concero Education Technology they jumped at the chance 👏 😳🤣 Thank you for being courageous Paige Harris Nathan Cleary Tim Walton Lauren Morris Tom Squibb The presentations covered: 💙 What their role was (I think this was very interesting....sometimes we go to certain people and rely on them to help complete a task, when in reality it isn't even their job 😳 they just can't say no!) 💙 The good and the bad parts of their role... being able to feedback ways the team can help make their life easier in certain situations, and the parts that are amazing of course 😀 💙 Data surrounding their role and also things others in the team might know is part of their role. Later on in the afternoon we tested our communication skills with a listening/drawing activity. Over the past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in and ultimately emerge victorious at Consortium, a two-day fest organized by litschool.in and powered by WLDD Private Limited, Slamitt and Owled Media! This wasn't just any ordinary fest; it was a game-changer that pushed the boundaries of conventional events! Rather than focusing on the usual fare, it was entirely centred around the dynamic field of marketing. This unique experience was designed to not only challenge our marketing skills, but also to test our creativity, adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and learning agility. Stepping into the marketing arena for the first time, I was challenged to push my boundaries and explore the depths of my own potential. The fest was designed to encourage us to showcase not only our creativity but also our adaptability, problem-solving acumen, and capacity for continuous learning. It urged us to think on our feet and apply our knowledge in practical scenarios that simulated the challenges faced by modern marketers. The rounds were meticulously evaluated and judged by distinguished industry experts, including Ayush Wadhwa - the Founder of Owled Media, and Reshi Magada - an accomplished Content Creator. Their presence added a profound layer of authenticity to the event, as they shared firsthand insights into the inner workings of the industry. Their practical advice helped us refine our strategies, think more creatively, and navigate challenges with newfound confidence. Their input wasn't just theoretical; it was a direct link to real-world success! Throughout the fest, I had the privilege of working closely with two exceptional individuals, Yohan T Joseph and Raed Alam. A team that would have otherwise seemed like an unconventional one, came together and leveraged the strengths of each member to the fullest extent possible! This victory isn't just about a win; it's about the valuable lessons we learned from each other. Consortium truly redefined what a fest could be and demonstrated how immersive, practical experiences can be both enriching and exhilarating!
