It's been a while since I told my origin story. Ever since I sold my first tanning membership, I've been hooked on the thrill of sales. But let's back up a bit because my path to becoming the Super Demand Man wasn't exactly a straight line. The Early Hustle I started in sales selling tanning memberships, but soon I caught the wave of the cell phone boom. At Verizon Wireless, I ranked in the top 3% nationwide and clinched the number one spot for the Southwest Region. It was exhilarating, but I knew I was just scratching the surface of my potential. Hitting Rock Bottom After a short stint in the gym business, I'd had enough of retail. That's when I found myself in the cutthroat world of straight commission boiler rooms. It was there I got the life-changing news—I was expecting a baby boy. That was my turning point. I decided to pivot to B2B sales, where I would eventually find my true calling. Entering the B2B Arena I joined Vendere Partners, a company whose name literally means "to sell." Starting as an SDR, I had to learn everything from turning on a computer, mastering office products, to understanding how data worked. But once I got the hang of it, I crushed it—I quickly became the top-performing SDR. The Vision One day, I had a vision—God showed me a future where I could create a business like Vendere, but with a focus on developing people. That's how ProspectHunter was born. Today, our company has over 12 years of testimonies of life-changing experiences, miracles, and careers launched. It’s a manifestation of "Life, and life more abundantly" (John 10:10). The Backstory But why did I start this crazy sales journey? At 17, I got into trouble—I stole something, and it haunted me. I threw college out the window, even though I should have been a D1 running back; I ran a 4.3 40-yard dash in high school. With a record, I figured no one would care about a degree. Looking back, it was a stupid move, but it pushed me to take the sales path. Everyone needs sales, and I knew I could beat anyone at anything if I put my mind to it. I listened to Tom Hopkins and thought, "I can beat him. I have to sell for my life." Milestones Along the Way Top 3% at Verizon in my 20s 300% to quota almost everywhere I've worked 12-year-old business still thriving in the demand generation space, serving Fortune 50 clients to startups *Countless lives enriched** through faith and professional development The Legacy ProspectHunter isn’t just a business. It’s a mission. It’s about transforming lives, proving that adversity can be the path to greatness. It's about showing that with grit, resilience, and a touch of divine inspiration, you can turn any setback into a comeback. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. If you're looking to bring some of that same energy into your own business, let's connect.

Amazing post, Jody. “It was there I got the life-changing news—I was expecting a baby boy. That was my turning point. I decided to pivot to B2B sales, where I would eventually find my true calling.” This read a lot like the current part of my life story.
Many a sales career have been launched from selling tanning memberships 😂
Just do it. 🤘
Growing ProspectHunter up from just a vision is amazing. Also Love what you said about taking any setback and making it a comeback. From second chances to never giving up, Jody Johnson always teaches me valuable lessons in life. Thanks for this, A real inspiration!
I can't remember being this excited about a team in quite a long time. About to be a major boom period for sales teams trying to book meetings with prospects in Chicago. Bear down!!!
