Everytime I talk with someone who works succesfully with someone else in some sort of business partneship/working relationship, The number one thing they mention that is the key determinant of their succesfull working relationship is honest and transparent communication It's no different with Adam and I who have worked together in partnership for over 7 years now. we call each other out on our own bs When one of us doesn’t show up, the other one calls it out but it’s not all tough love The arm around the shoulder approach is used when needed as well It’s push and pull Constantly wanting and striving for the best in each other I guess that’s maybe why we’ve managed to put up with each other for so long How important is honest and transparent communication in some of your most succesfull working relationships? Alternatively what makes some of your best professional working relationships so good? Would love to hear some other thoughts !

Shoutout to Levina Yu who celebrates two years with us at Talent Forge Australia this month 🥳 To witness Lev coming in with limited experience to then go on and become an established and successful senior consultant has been nothing short of amazing 👏 Her passion for helping her candidates, developing herself as a recruiter and being an all round team player is second to none. The last few years have been a pleasure to have you by my side Levina Yu - looking forward to many more !

Cutler Friday morning museing. Learning to be ok with ‘enough’. Something I know I struggle with and I know others well is a constant feeling of always wanting more.. More money More customers More followers More likes More things etc It might seem conservative to some to be content with ‘enough’ and possibly leaving opportunities on the table.. However having enough is realising the opposite - that insatiable appetite for more may push you to the point of regret. See story below ..

What role does luck play in recruitment? Sometimes I can have two months side by side, One where I’m making it rain and placements all over the shop and then the very next - a dessert. Nada. Nothing. A howler. And in both cases, I’ve worked just as hard and done the exact same things.. and I just brush it off as, ‘I had the luck first month, then it escaped me in the second 🤷♂️’ But how do you quantify luck? When judging others, attributing their success to luck makes you look jealous.. but when judging yourself, attributing success to luck can be demoralising.. So how do you become ‘luckier’ Can you earn luck? Sometimes I think so… There’s definitely some truth in the old Gary Player quote.. ‘The harder I work, the luckier I get’ However you can’t just rely on luck in recruitment There has to be some skill to it but this leads me back to my original question What is the exact role of luck in determining your success in recruitment ?? I don’t have the answers. Would love to hear some other thoughts on this… drop em in the comments.
