The construction industry accounts for 10% of the global GDP, and the UN estimates that buildings account for 35% of carbon dioxide emissions. Developing culturally sensitive structures using environmentally friendly construction materials can minimize their ecological footprint. A study published in the ASCE Journal of Management in Engineering, from authors Kerim K., Handan Kunkcu, and Asli Pelin Gurgun, proposes a novel risk management model that identifies the risks associated with green building projects for stakeholders at all stages throughout the projects’ life cycles.
