I'm pleased to publicly unveil the launch of Neinda Advisors LLC with an international focus on serving in independent director roles. I've created Neinda Advisors with the belief that restructuring experience in the boardroom can be helpful to the success of both healthy and troubled organizations. I look forward to continuing to enjoy the longstanding relationships established over three decades of providing governance, executive, and advisory services in restructuring situations across the globe. As for the name, Neinda is an area where my family first settled when arriving in Texas in the 1800s. I'm pleased to bring it back. www.neinda.com

I want to thank Scott and all of the INSOL volunteers for an incredible first meeting of the 2023 GIPC class. I look forward to reconvening in Tokyo for a continued discussion of global insolvency developments.

London 🇬🇧: Remarkably, INSOL International’s Global Insolvency Practice Course just celebrated its 15th anniversary. To date, 211 INSOL Fellows have graduated and the current course has just begun. There’s no better way to celebrate this milestone than with the current GIPC participants who gathered in London this week for three days of intensive coursework delivered by leading academics, practitioners, and course lecturers. And supported by a number of Fellows in London for the occasion - including two who were in the inaugural course delivered by Emeritus Professor Bob Wessels at Leiden University in 2008, just 3 months before Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection. The GIPC is regarded as the globally leading course for advanced study in cross-border restructuring and insolvency. And almost without exception, one or more INSOL Fellows are involved in each significant cross-border restructuring or bankruptcy filing, often creating new law. From a meeting in Brisbane 🇦🇺 in 2005 hosted by Professor Rosalind Mason, the nascent idea to establish a programme for higher study is producing current and future leaders of the profession. Currently overseen by Course Leader Professor Peter Walton, and supported by INSOL International’s David Burdette and Heather Callow, thanks must also go to the many other course leaders who have nurtured its success including: Bob Wessels, Professor Michael Veder, Professor Ray Warner, and Professor Janis Sarra. Good luck to the current GIPC participants pictured above with other Fellows and course leaders: Laura Johns, Francisco Vazquez, Anju Agarwal, JOHN S BAIN, Ronit Berkovich, Ashwin Bishnoi, Peter Bowden, Justin Davis, Tameka Davis, Masaki Fujita, Carlos A. Grande, Simon Hurry, Johnny Law, CPA, CFE, CAMS, Niall Ledwidge, Nienke Lillington, Surbhi Pareek, Tim Prudhoe, Alex Rogan, Sebastian Said, Urmika Tripathi, Job van Hooff, Midori Yamaguchi and John T. Young, Jr.. With thanks to ‘local’ Fellows also able to join in: Peter J.M. Declercq, Julie Nettleton, Lucas Kortmann, Stephen Hair and Ian Fox.

I was honored to share my perspectives related to the energy sector for Reorg.com’s 2022 bankruptcy outlook. Amid a decline of energy bankruptcies, some energy-related businesses will travel a longer road to recovery. #energy #midstream #restructuring #bankruptcy #oilandgas #energyinfrastructure
For companies focused on #energy infrastructure, high costs across labor, transportation, and raw materials are accelerating the need for restructurings, Riveron’s John T. Young, Jr. tells Reorg in a #bankruptcy outlook: “It will be years, even with $80 oil, before production supports demand for capex in the midstream space.” #midstream #energy #oilandgas #2022trends https://lnkd.in/gH7hgTva
