As we look to a future powered by #AI, we must be intentional to ensure that these technologies are responsibly developed and used to serve all of humanity, especially those historically overlooked and forgotten.   This is exactly what the AI Ethics Council aims to do. Founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Operation HOPE CEO John Hope Bryant, the group will serve as a leading authority in identifying, advising on, and addressing ethical issues related to AI.    It is my privilege to serve as a founding council member, alongside: George T. French, Jr., Helene Gayle, Bernice A. King, David Thomas, and Andrew Young.

Excellent place to start a discussion about AI ethics. I would also add automation because AI and automation are connected. By using AI, jobs and functions become automated which can create unforeseen problems.

Cisco Systems has joined other major tech companies like Microsoft and IBM in endorsing the Vatican’s initiative to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI. The pledge, known as the Rome Call for #AIEthics emphasizes that technology should not be driven by greed or aim to replace people with machines. Cisco’s commitment includes proactive governance and risk mitigation, as well as a broad perspective on AI’s transformative impact across industries and society.
