Hey there! 🎉 I just finished up the Software Engineering simulation at Goldman Sachs on Forage, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride! 🚀 So, get this: I got to step into the shoes of a governance analyst responsible for assessing IT security. And guess what? I uncovered some pretty interesting stuff about the company's password protection. 😯 Using Hashcat, I managed to crack some passwords and discovered that the company was using an outdated hashing algorithm. Talk about an eye-opener! 🔍 But fear not! I didn't just stop there. Oh no! I whipped up a memo for my supervisor, outlining a bunch of ways we can beef up our password protection game. Think extending minimum password length, switching to a dedicated hashing algorithm, and a whole lot more! 💪 It was pretty cool diving into the nitty-gritty of cybersecurity and coming up with solutions to keep our digital fortress strong. This simulation honed my skills in cybersecurity analysis, problem-solving, and effective communication within a corporate IT environment.

In the simulation I: * Completed a job simulation as a Goldman Sachs governance analyst responsible for assessing IT security and suggesting improvements. * Identified that the company was using an outdated password hashing algorithm by cracking passwords using Hashcat. * Wrote a memo for my supervisor summarizing a range of proposed uplifts to increase the company’s level of password protection including extending minimum password length and using a dedicated hashing algorithm. Through this experience, I’ve validated that I really enjoy working on highly impactful technical projects in great detail. I can see just how this project would have a significant impact on Goldman Sachs as a company and on its customers by increasing the level of security to reduce the risk of a successful hack.

Hi #connection I just completed Goldman Sachs's Software Engineering on Forage. I recently participated in Goldman Sachs’s job simulation on Forage and it was incredibly useful to understand what it might be like to work as a governance analyst there. This simulation enabled me to build my experience cracking passwords using a range of tools including Hashcat. Once I had cracked passwords I was able to come up with a range of uplifts to suggest that would increase the overall level of password protection across the organization. Through this experience, I’ve validated that I really enjoy working on highly impactful technical projects in great detail. I can see just how this project would have a significant impact on Goldman Sachs as a company and on its customers by increasing the level of security to reduce the risk of a successful hack.
