Co-Founder @NobulRS - specialising in helping companies build and execute growth defining Talent Strategies; building exceptional teams!

After reading the article, it is clear that hiring the wrong talent can have serious consequences for a company. This is why it is crucial for businesses to have a well-defined understanding of what good performance looks like in a role. It is not enough to simply add multiple extra interview stages in hopes of weeding out potential bad hires. It is essential for companies to really dive deep and gain a thorough understanding of the key competencies and skills required for success in a specific role. This includes having a clear understanding of the responsibilities, expectations, and goals of the position. Interviewing against this criteria can greatly increase the chances of finding the right fit for a role. By asking targeted questions that assess these key competencies, companies can accurately gauge whether a candidate has what it takes to excel in the position. In addition to interviewing, it may also be beneficial to incorporate other methods such as skill assessments or work samples to further evaluate a candidate's abilities. Ultimately, investing time and effort into fully comprehending what good performance looks like in a role will save companies from making costly mistakes in their hiring process. By focusing on this, businesses can ensure they are bringing on board top talent who will contribute positively to their organization's success.
