Ten concepts you have to know 1. Teach students how to conduct themselves professionally when speaking with decision-makers and talent acquisition managers. 2. Encourage students to showcase their abilities and skills in order to make a good impression. 3. Advocate for hiring college interns for business projects by recommending it to decision-makers. 4. Emphasise the advantages of employing students, including their willingness to contribute and the reduced financial burden on the business. 5. Encourage students to put in a lot of effort and leave a good impression once they land a job. 6. Encourage students to impress employers during their internships in order to receive pre-placement offers. 7. Invite more decision-makers to the college to increase the likelihood that they will be placed. 8. Be prepared for at least a few decision-makers to begin hiring college students. 9. By putting these strategies into practise, concentrate on raising the college's placement ratio. 10. To encourage the use of these tactics, encourage students to share the video and message with their professors.

Their collaboration with the Toledo Public Schools Foundation through the Dream Bigger series creates opportunities for students to start their career journey early. During the program, Owens Corning employees help to prepare high school students for college and the next phase of their lives. The Dream Bigger series provides tools for life and career skills, such as resume building and interview preparation, and offers high school internships to students through this program. Individuals' journey starts when they decide on a career(s) and take the first step in navigating the process. It begins before most people even realize it and continues throughout life. A career journey is a dynamic process with many paths, and if adequately navigated, it assists you in identifying your purpose that aligns with your passion. Studies show that programs such as Dream Bigger assist in setting students' minds and efforts on career goals at an early age. This concept helps them achieve their goals sooner and pivot to other essential things in life, such as secondary careers, that they may discover later.

I love having a reason to be back on the St.Edward's University campus*, and the amazing Dr. Teri Varner invited me to guest lecture last week for her Introduction to Communication classes on the topic of interviewing. I shared some do's and don'ts, real stories, and insider tricks I've learned and used over my decades of interviewing, hiring, and supervising students. In case you haven't noticed, the landscape has changed. Both for those hiring students and for the students. Many of the tried-and-true "rules" for interviewing still stand, but some have shifted. I think they were surprised by some of what I had to say, and I *always* learn something new when I visit with students. I love it!
