Nine states are teaming up to speed residential electrification adoption. Directors of environmental agencies from California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Rhode Island have signed an agreement to boost heat pump usage for heating, cooling, and water heating. By 2030, they aim for heat pumps to power 65% of residential-scale HVAC and water heating shipments, with a 90% target by 2040. They're also focusing on greening state buildings and ensuring low-income households benefit from these advancements. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gc-iTijT #HVAC #multifamily

🔊 Accurate thermal calculations are paramount to creating buildings that meet regulation energy standards and the highest levels of comfort and well-being. There is a significant focus on U-value calculations when specifying materials to combat heat loss through building elements such as walls, floors and roofs. But what about Psi-values and Y-values? Lee Buckley, our Technical Team Leader here at Recticel Insulation UK, provides a guide to each value and why they are integral to achieving greater energy efficiency. Read our new Knowledge Hub Blog 'Building energy efficiency with accurate PSI and Y-value analysis' below⬇️ https://bit.ly/3SX5zQd #psivalues #pirinsulation #fabricfirst

As a homeowner, you might notice construction near your property and wonder what's going on. It's likely because your local government or a utility company is working in an area known as the “right of way,” a designated area accessed to install and maintain public utilities such as electricity, gas, water, sewer, and fiber internet cables. Although construction can sometimes be a hassle, this work is important for keeping the operations of a neighborhood running smoothly. In our latest blog post, we break down how to locate the right of way on your property and why Tilson construction workers use it when building fiber internet infrastructure: https://bit.ly/3KSGWAM. Our mission is to leave the communities we serve in better condition than before we arrived. The only reminder that we were there should be your reliable, high-speed internet. ⚡ #onamission

“Heat networks will only succeed if they are competitive on cost and carbon compared with the customer’s alternative solutions,” says Justin Etherington, Director, Buro Happold in this recent CIBSE article. Justin also emphasises the necessity of complementary government initiatives including technical standards, policy support, and regulatory oversight by Ofgem to instil confidence in the sector. The UK government is aiming for 11% of heat in the UK to be supplied by heat networks within newly designated heat zones. Proposals have been published for Heat Network Zoning ahead of plans to introduce heat network technical standards and mandate the connection of certain buildings by 2025. This article provides key insights into the proposals including those related to emissions limits while exploring the routes to connection in the new Heat Network Zoning consultation.
