Hey y’all, Brendan Tolleson here! Coming to you with 5 lessons I’ve learned since we officially launched Southbound last week: Lesson 1: The team will rally around a big goal - when the vision is there. → Southbound is a first for RevPartners. We’ve never produced an event like this before. Building internal buy-in for our vision (creating THE revenue summit for the southeast) was key. Lesson 2: Build it and they will come. → When you believe in what you’re building, it gives others permission to believe as well. Because we’ve been intentional with our theme, speakers, sponsors, and entertainment, we’re way ahead on registration goals. Lesson 3: Nurturing relationships is everything. → The most common Southbound call out so far? Our all-star speaker lineup. Relationship building has always been important, but it’s crucial to have invested in community years before you launch any event. Thankfully, ours has stepped to the plate.  Lesson 4: Surprise and delight is intentionally planned. → Southbound has got to be memorable and different. That means we threw out the old playbook on what a revenue summit should look like. GTM knowledge meets southern style entertainment…we’ve packed the day with surprising moments, because growth is anything but boring. Lesson 5: The southeast needs Southbound. → Atlanta is my home. It’s where I grew up and where I’m raising my family. Southbound celebrates the GTM talent of the southeast and the businesses that flourish here. And as a community, it’s something we really need. We’re still learning every day and #failingforward in classic RP fashion. And it wouldn’t be possible without a team culture that celebrates moving fast, breaking things, and going BIG. Another fantastic Member Value Workshop with Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber this morning..... AND.... Yet another session (that's 5 now!) where I forgot to take a picture!!! Walked a sold-out room through the creation of a personalized strategy for their PAACC #membership. Great group. Great discussion. One metric I like to use to measure the success of a chamber function is how long people who didn't previously know each other hang around talking after the program is over... We ended around 11:05, and I finally packed up my laptop and left at 12:23. Love it! Thanks to Chris Heck for sitting in and joining the conversation. I always think it sends a big time message of support when the President & CEO joins #smallbusiness conversations at the chamber. Adds a great deal to the conversation, as well.
