Honest feedback is definitely important and crucial to building trust and a culture of continuous growth. I coach many high achieving women who are craving for feedback that drives them to go to their next level. Many of them are frustrated because they simply get: “You are doing a good job. Keep doing what you are doing.” I had a client that shared that he told his team member that he did a good job at giving a presentation because he didn’t want to discourage him. That is not of service as a leader!! Leaders need the courage to give honest and constructive feedback that fosters continuous growth. This is leadership in action: "If you are a leader who doesn’t know how their team wants to be treated, you need to go to them and ask. It’s fine to have your preferences and leadership style, but if we’re making choices based solely on those, we aren’t making room for different ways to solve problems or create change. You end up creating a very homogenous culture, instead of promoting a diverse work environment. So, if you’re a leader asking yourself how you can be more inclusive, start by asking your team. It may seem like a tall order, but start small, and eventually you will see changes that you never expected, and you’ll open the door for a better workplace." Imposter syndrome and DEI work are intrinsically linked. How you ask? Because both are directly related to whether we feel we belong in our communities. It’s not enough to simply have a woman, or a person of color at the table. They must feel they belong and are welcomed at the table.   Wondering how to get started? Once you begin to understand your team members’ wants, needs, and motivations, you can start creating an environment that makes them feel seen and heard. Empowering female leaders at ALDI 🚀   Yesterday, we kicked off "Female !mpulse," our new female leadership network at ALDI SÜD.
