Helping Founders, Executives, and Investors Maximize their LinkedIn Presence to Develop Thought Leadership I CEO of YKC Media I Generate Opportunities from LinkedIn by Leveraging Strategic Ghostwriting

When someone sends me a cold message on LinkedIn (or via email), or even better, approaches me at an event, I am impressed   I know I dunked on community types and “super connectors” in a previous profile post, but there are really some people out there who have a natural propensity towards building relationships authentically, and with ease    This is how I connected with Brittany Levy, a product manager turned community builder who actually makes me regret all the bad things I write and say about Gen Z 😉   Not Brittany.   Her background is in building tech products, and she has done so building notable products at companies like Resy and Amex But what she is really passionate about is building communities As a personal project over the past few years, she built several Jewish communities and served behind the scenes on many initiatives focused on strengthening Jewish connectivity. But post-October 7th, these efforts no longer felt as though they should remain side projects… she felt a responsibility to lend her skills to the Jewish community during this time of need   In taking that step, she recently assumed the role of Community Director of Excel, a fellowship program aimed at cultivating the next generation of Jewish business leaders   I’ve covered the idea of the servant-leader in a previous post, and how in order to serve effectively there are a number of important skills… but nothing happens without taking a risk, and putting yourself out there, in attempting to connect with other people   So, when Brittany reached out to me to let me know how my newsletter had impacted her… and with a request to further connect, I saw this was someone who was agentic, and willing to put themselves out there   Not everyone is going to respond positively to a cold message, but all you can control is the action you take   There really is a need to build community post-Oct 7th as people may experience a profound sense of isolation (especially if they spend a lot of time online). My days of involvement in the Jewish communal world have changed, but Brittany’s interest in the intersection between Jewish life and business/tech is something which resonates with me   When I asked Brittany about her approach to building authentic professional relationships, she suggested focusing on sincerity rather than personal gain: “When you simply strive to do good for others without ulterior motives, kindness naturally comes back in wonderful and abundant ways”   Her ask for the community is to not let uncertainty hold you back from playing your part in fighting antisemitism… everyone has a role they can play. If you’re unsure how to get involved, reach out to her She is more than happy to provide the guidance, mentorship, and support needed to bring out the inner leader in you - as long as you have the passion and intention #thursdaythoughts #leadershipdevelopment #israelunderfire

What a great attitude and perspective. Building community is essential for the Jewish people right now. And taking risks to be the kind of leaser people need takes a great deal of courage. Yasher Koach.
