Today you are going to be inundated with Giving Tuesday ads and requests for you to dig in your checkbook and write a check to your favorite charity. It's going to be non-stop with posts, texts, ads, even phone calls. Much in the same way that the FOR Profit world hammers us with Black Friday and Cyber Monday advertisements, the Non-profit world steps to the plate one day a year and SPEAKS Loud and large. Asks us to think about them instead of us! And just as we find a way to reach into our pockets to spoil our kids, our spouses, our grandkids, and even ourselves on Black Friday, I ask you to reach just as deep to support your favorite non-profit. In my world, I hope it's SMILE Mass, a cause that has become near and dear to me. A cause that means so much that I made the decision to leave my for-profit career to fill my heart and focus on what's really important. So my plea to my friends, family, and connections is to write a check. $5, $50, $500. Whatever makes you feel good today. Giving feels WAY BETTER than receiving. For one day Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Kohls should not be your focus. Guys like Nicholas Diomede, Andy Bolduc, Kristen Brown, Matthew Peater Cosentino, Emma 'Ed O'Neill and Devin Sutton should be the recipients of your hard-earned dollars.
