We are thrilled to present the global dynamic debut of the Genesis GV60 Magma Concept at the The Goodwood Group 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The festival’s storied legacy and enthusiastic audience is an ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of our new Magma program and highlight our strong commitment to high performance. We’re happy to announce that we will produce the Genesis GV60 Magma, our first Magma production vehicle.  Sales are targeted to commence in Korea during the third quarter of next year, with Europe to follow. Stay tuned for news about other markets. The GV60 Magma Concept is among several vehicles within the Genesis Magma program showcased at this year’s Goodwood, including the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept, which made its global dynamic debut today on the Goodwood hillclimb. The Genesis G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife — an enhanced G70 3.3T model designed specifically for passenger rides at the fabled Nürburgring track in Germany — was also seen in action for the first time in the UK. Congratulations to my home team Spain for a hard fought win over an excellent French team at the UEFA EURO 2024 semifinals. We advance to the finals to play the winner of England v Netherlands. Though I rarely have time to watch soccer, I’ve been keeping up with the UEFA Euro 2024 and CONMEBOL Copa America 2024 tournaments as a preview to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States, in which Hyundai Motor Group is a sponsor, including sister company KIA and for the first time our partners Supernal and Boston Dynamics. We look forward to showcasing the capabilities of our mobility solutions and partner brands on a global scale. There is nothing quite like el juego bonito (the beautiful game) to unite and inspire people around the world. And there is no greater honor than representing one’s country on the global stage. Best of luck to the remaining teams in both tournaments… Por España, vamos, vamos, sí se puede!

Congratulations to Hyundai Motor America, Genesis Motor America and our outstanding dealer partners for excellent results in Q2 and the first half of the year. Hyundai sold 214,719 vehicles in Q2, for a total sales increase of 2.2% compared with Q2 2023. We set total and retail sales records in Q2 for IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Santa Fe HEV, Tucson HEV and Palisade. HEV sales for the quarter rose 42% compared to Q2 last year while pure EV total sales climbed 15%. Genesis Motor America had its best-ever first half sales achievement with 31,821 sales so far this year, an increase of 2% from 2023 1H. Many of our dealer partners were affected in June by cyberattacks targeting a company that provides crucial IT services for their dealer management systems. While we are doing everything we can to support their business continuity, our dealer partners showed once again how they are the best in the business in how they have responded. Thank you to Insight Korea for highlighting Executive Chairman Chung’s leadership in bringing global leaders to Hyundai Motor Group, including Luc Donckerwolke, Karim Antoine Habib, Manfred Harrer and myself. It’s an honor and a privilege to serve. Thanks to the hard work of so many colleagues and our dealer partners, last year HMG ranked number three in sales globally with 7,304,282 vehicles sold, an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year. I’m very proud of all the regions for their contributions. Last year Hyundai and KIA posted a combined operating profit of 26.73 trillion won ($19.3 billion). The company continues to invest in beautifully designed, high quality, safety focused, EcoFriendly vehicles with technology that customers want and value. And we continue to offer multiple powertrains depending on where customers are on their EV journey. Thanks to the ECs leadership, the Group is also investing in AI, hydrogen, air mobility, robots, autonomy and other aspects of an ecosystem which will help people and goods move more efficiently and sustainably in the future. I’m very pleased to report that both Hyundai and Genesis scored well on the J.D. Power 2024 Initial Quality Study. Hyundai ranked number three, up from 17 last year, and Genesis ranked third in the premium brand category, improving by two spots from last year. Our sister brand KIA ranked number four. Our nameplates also did well. Genesis G80 executive sedan was named Best Upper Midsize Premium Car for the fourth consecutive year. Hyundai Santa Cruz was named America’s Best Midsize Pickup while the Hyundai Elantra and Tucson finished third in their respective segments. Genesis and Hyundai’s impressive performance in this year’s J.D. Power Initial Quality Study demonstrates our commitment to delivering exceptional products and keeping our customers top of mind. Congratulations to everyone in the Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차) value chain, from design, development, manufacturing, suppliers, sales and service, and to all our outstanding dealer partners. The Hyundai INSTER EV subcompact and Genesis X Gran Racer VGT Concept, both unveiled at the Busan International Mobility Show this week, demonstrate the breadth of Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차)’s portfolio, as well as our design leadership, which I think is the best in the business. These two vehicles bookend our growing global portfolio of beautifully designed, high quality, safety focused, Eco-Friendly vehicles that customers want and value. In between this subcompact and high performance concept we offer a variety of segments, price and powertrain options for everyone, from Seoul to Savannah, Paris to Perth and Delhi to Dubai. The INSTER, a stunning new a new A-segment sub-compact, will retail below EUR 25,000 and will launch in Korea this summer, followed by Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Genesis continues to push the boundaries of exceptional design and performance as seen with the X Gran Racer VGT Concept, which is a derivative of the earlier revealed Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, and the brand’s fourth vehicle developed for the Gran Turismo digital racing game series. It was a pleasure to host Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, First Lady Marty Kemp, Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson and their delegation celebrating 40 years of their having a Georgia office in Korea. Thanks to the support of leaders in Georgia, including Trip Tollison and the Savannah Economic Development Authority, the construction of our $7.6 billion Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) operation is ahead of schedule. This is part of a $12.6 billion investment in Georgia which also includes two battery JVs. Our first Hyundai IONIQ 5 will come off the line in October this year. Thanks to all the women and men of HMGMA, our partners and suppliers who are working so hard to build high quality, safety focused, EVs with technology that our customers value. It’s a great time to be with Hyundai!

Of all the roles I have, being a father is by far the most meaningful. I am very grateful to have had a great role model in my father who always inspired me to do my best. My wife and I celebrate our two wonderful daughters every chance we have. At Hyundai Motor America we’re celebrating all the dads not just today but every day. Happy Father’s Day!
