Hello and welcome to another week in review! This week we continued collaboration with Hartlepool & Stockton Health in our endeavour to support local practices as we get through difficult times in the NHS. This collaboration enables more appointments to be made for our local communities, and so more patients can be seen. The highlight of this week for me was the team meeting we had with the reception and admin team. We use these meetings as a way to improve communication between the partners and the reception/admin team. The meeting this week highlighted the importance of having these check-ins to touch base with everyone. At the meeting, there were two overarching themes; 👉 There were ⁠pain points raised by the admin and reception staff that as a partner I didn’t know about. Without this meeting, it’s possible we could have went weeks further down the line without this being raised. 👉⁠ ⁠It was brought to my awareness that there was confusion around why certain protocols were in place. This highlighted the importance of clear communication. Setting protocols may work theoretically, but you need to full backing and understanding of your team members for effective implementation. In my practice, we have regular meetings that involve all staff members throughout the practice so everyone has the opportunity to provide and receive feedback. Our meetings also include constant reflection on our progress as a practice. Compared to the previous meeting we all agreed that we were in a much healthier state - all targets had been met, and we were consistently beating national averages. How do your meetings work? But I’m curious: Have you also mapped how you’ll prepare and what you’ll do on-site to maximize the value of each event? If you’re coughing up thousands of dollars in registration fees, airfare, hotel — or even more for booth or meeting space — it’s not enough to attend a few thought-provoking sessions or passively hope the right prospects cross your path. 📣 My team recently developed a handy conference timeline and checklist that shows what companies should consider in the run-up to important events, starting six months out and continuing to the week of the event.
