🔁 Reposting from Garuda Indonesia's recent update about their first commercial flight using Bio-avtur fuel (SAF), I am thrilled to share my thoughts on this significant milestone! 🌱✨ Firstly, a big congratulations to Garuda Indonesia and PT Pertamina (Persero) for taking this bold step towards sustainability. The use of bio-avtur fuel (SAF), a biofuel made from palm kernel oil, is a testament to their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting greener aviation. 👏 Bio-avtur fuel (SAF) has immense potential in maintaining sustainability. It's not just about reducing our carbon footprint, but also about promoting the use of renewable resources. This could lead to a decrease in our dependence on fossil fuels, which are not only harmful to the environment but also finite! The choice of palm kernel oil as the resource in particularly interesting. As a byproduct of the palm oil industry, it represents a great way to utilize waste and turn it into something beneficial. 🔅🌴 I am hopeful that this successful flight will pave the way for more airlines to consider the use of bio-avtur fuel (SAF). It's an exciting prospect to think that we could be on the brink of a major shift in how we power our flights. 🙌 However, it's important to remember that the journey doesn't end here. We need to continue investing in research and development to improve the efficiency of bio-avtur fuel (SAF) and make it a viable option for widespread use. 🌏 Once again, congratulations to Garuda Indonesia and PT Pertamina (Persero) on this achievement. Here's to hoping that bio-avtur fuel (SAF) becomes the fuel of the future for sustainable aviation! 🎉🌱✈️ #FromNaturetoFuture #GarudaIndonesia #SustainableFlight #SustainableAviationFuel #RenewableEnergy

We are proud to represent Garuda Indonesia's commitment to sustainable energy optimization along with the PT Pertamina (Persero) Group, the Directorate-General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (DGEBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, the Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations (DKPPU) Kementerian Perhubungan Republik Indonesia, the Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung) Research Group, the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), and the Indonesia Biofuel Producer Association (APROBI). Last week, we officially launched a special flight called #FromNatureToFuture, where we used Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from Bioavtur J2.4, which contains 2.4% palm kernel oil. This flight is part of our effort to pioneer sustainable commercial flight operations in Indonesia towards achieving Net Zero Emission by 2060. Curious about the process behind this initial flight? Take a look at the infographic below. *** Hadirnya penerbangan khusus bertajuk #FromNatureToFuture yang menggunakan Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) berbahan bakar bioavtur J2.4 berbasis minyak inti sawit pada tanggal 27 Oktober 2023 lalu, menjadi wujud semangat Garuda Indonesia bersama dengan PT Pertamina (Persero) Group, Direktorat Jenderal Energi Baru Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi (EBTKE) Kementerian ESDM RI, Direktorat Kelaiakudaraan dan Pengoperasian Pesawat Udara (DKPPU) Kementerian Perhubungan Republik Indonesia, Tim Peneliti Institut Teknologi Bandung, BPDPKS dan APROBI untuk merintis penggunaan energi terbarukan pada penerbangan komersial di Indonesia dalam rangka mencapai Net Zero Emission di tahun 2060. This post is truly inspiring and heartwarming! It's fantastic to see Garuda Indonesia leading the way in sustainable aviation with their first commercial flight using Bioavtur fuel. Their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting greener aviation is commendable. The potential of Bioavtur to not only reduce our carbon footprint but also decrease our reliance on finite fossil fuels is indeed promising. It's an exciting moment, and I wholeheartedly share the hope that this success will encourage more airlines to adopt Bioavtur, potentially revolutionizing the way we power flights. Your reminder about the ongoing need for research and development is crucial, as we continue on this path toward a more sustainable future. Congratulations to Garuda Indonesia for this remarkable achievement, and here's to a greener and more eco-friendly aviation industry in the future! 🌿✈️🎉🌟
