https://lnkd.in/efS9z3yH Dear Linked In Friends and Colleagues, Many of you are aware of my battle with Prostate Cancer over the past 9 years; Radical Prostatectomy, Radiation, Chemotherapy and Hormone Therapy, and all of the side effects that go along with these treatments (feel free to contact me if you want additional information). Throughout it all, I have tried to keep a positive attitude. Having a support system, including many of you, has been invaluable during this journey. I have also tried to not let it affect my lifestyle; competing in a variety of sports and running my business. Prior to the pandemic I participated in a 5K for Prostate awareness on Father’s Day as a member of someone else’s team. It was fun and rewarding, and our team had the most participants, raised the most money as a team, and we also had some of the fastest runners in the event. After that event, I vowed to come back with my own team, and take over as the top team. I may be a little competitive, but this is how we help raise $$ and awareness. The past two years, with your help, I have put together a SUPER TEAM, “I _______ with Kap,” and we have had the largest team, raised the most $$ and certainly had the most fun. I am inviting ALL of you to join or donate to our 2024 team. Our goal is to always have the most participants, raise the most amount of money and have the fastest team. Even if you do not live in Atlanta, you can still participate. One in seven men will encounter prostate cancer in their lifetime. Every 20 minutes a man we love loses his life to prostate cancer. By generating greater awareness and education about prostate cancer, we can change these statistics. Early detection can save lives.

I was diagnosed with cancer the same week that we were ready to launch the first Gigmor MVP. I could have given up. Everyone assumed I would. But that wasn't an option for me. So while I was going through treatment, I got on my laptop several times a week and posted ads on craigslist telling musicians we had a better way to connect and find gigs. I learned everything I could about circumventing their antiquated TOS. The craziest thing they do is "ghost you," where they tell you your post is live but it's not. It was hard work and frustrating. We ultimately gained 45,000 members with a CAC of $0. Cancer treatment took a year: chemo, radiation, surgery. I got myself through it by setting short term goals: get through today, get through this week. It's like climbing a mountain when you don't focus on how far away the summit is, you focus on getting to that tree, that bend in the path. A few months after I was told I was cancer free, we entered a pitch competition in LA and we won. No one was more shocked than me! I'd lost 40 lbs, was fighting "chemo brain," and had been out of the game for over a year. Founding a startup isn't easy. It's like going through cancer treatment. It takes an almost superhuman level of determination and a high tolerance for pain, rejection and failure. You can't succeed if you give up. So keep going. Set yourself a goal for today, tomorrow, this week, next week. Don't give in to the fear! We're now on the next phase of our journey. #ColonCancer #MetallicStent This 91-year-old lady is in the terminal stage of colon cancer. Due to her poor condition , she opted for #MetalStent placement. Her colon cancer (yellow line) is about 9cm long and has irregularly narrow sections, making it challenging to find suitable paths to pass the guidewire. The X-ray confirms that the metal stents have been successfully deployed. The stents appear compressed by the tumor, but within 24 hours, they will slowly expand, dilating the lumen. https://lnkd.in/gPZuJW5R
