Quang Ninh - The dragon is awakening in the industrial real estate. With its special advantages in geographical location and interconnected transportation infrastructure, Quang Ninh is identified as a focal point for investment attraction in 2024. Quang Ninh is particularly focused on the core solution of completing technical infrastructure to ensure synchronicity, connectivity between regions, internal areas, and neighboring areas. Regarding the Bac Tien Phong Industrial Zone, the main road transportation system, electricity supply system, and basic water supply system have been completed; a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 4,500 cubic meters per day is ready to operate, meeting the operational needs of factories within the industrial zone. Up to now, the DEEP C Industrial Zones have attracted 12 projects with a total investment capital of 2.1 billion USD; in 2023 alone, 9 projects were attracted with a total investment capital of 1.8 billion USD. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the Bac Tien Phong Industrial Zone will be fully occupied, with a total investment capital exceeding 1 billion USD compared to 2023. Malaysian Mid-Tier Companies Expand into Philippines Recognizing the opportunities in growing infrastructure and development projects in the Philippines, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the national trade promotion agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) Malaysia is spearheading the Market Immersion Mission to the Philippines from 12 to 15 March 2024 covering two cities, namely Davao and Manila. Thailand’s investment outlook brightens Investment in industrial estates is projected to grow steadily from 2024/25, driven by EEC infrastructure projects in Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao. However, new supply may be limited due to rising land prices and a scarcity of prime locations.

Even if land in Tuas is not fully utilized currently, it is better to be prepared for the future, especially considering Singapore’s many competing needs and the long lead time for such projects. Vietnam is speeding up the green conversion of the industrial park’s landscape. According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the conversion of existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks contributed to savings of nearly VND70 billion (US$2.8 million) annually in Việt Nam during the period from 2020 to 2024. With prominent benefits including cost-saving and CO2 emission reduction, the number of projects to convert traditional industrial facilities into greener and more resource-efficient has been increased and is expected to engage up to 40-50 % of localities by 2030. On January 13, the grand opening ceremony of Kingsol Jiujiang Base, accompanied by the inaugural PV Zero Carbon Industry Chain Innovation and Development Forum, unfolded in #Jiujiang, one of the central cities in Southeastern #China, drawing a crowd of 100 participants. Andy To, Managing Director, North Asia, representing our organization, was invited to engage in a roundtable discussion themed "Outlook on the Integration and Innovation of the PV and Zero Carbon Industry Chains under the Background of Global Carbon Border Management." Additionally, Brown Xu, Director of Market Transformation and Development, North Asia, delivered a compelling speech titled "LEED Helping Green Buildings Move Towards Zero Carbon."   During the discussion on the pivotal role of photovoltaics in zero-carbon buildings, Andy emphasized, "From a carbon operation perspective, electrification is gaining increasing significance, and new energy photovoltaic storage plays an important role in achieving zero carbon. Presently, many companies mention zero carbon, primarily relying on purchasing green electricity, with only a few translating these intentions into tangible practices.
