💡 OECD just released the paper "Enhancing international partnership and co-operation in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy" which evaluates Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region's strategy on international partnership and co-operation. Taking a course on international development has been an eye-opening experience. It covered a wide range of topics, from the historical overview of development to the emerging trends in international development, the role of innovation and technology, and the importance of global partnerships for sustainable development. The course delved into various theories of international development, including Modernization Theory, Dependency Theory, and Post-Development Theory, which provided a comprehensive understanding of the different perspectives on development. It also explored the roles of different actors and institutions in international development, such as Governments, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and The Private Sector. Also, the impact of Globalization, Trade and Development, Foreign Direct Investment, and Technology on development was thoroughly examined. Conflict Resolution was not left out. The Impact of Conflict on societies, the causes of Conflict, and the approaches to Peacebuilding and State-building in the context of development were discussed. The final module focused on Emerging Trends in international development. The role of Innovation and Technology, and the importance of Global Partnerships in shaping the future of international development. These topics shed light on the evolving landscape of development and the potential avenues for positive change. This course has provided valuable insights into the complexities of international development and the multifaceted approaches required to address global challenges. It has not only broadened my understanding but also inspired me to contribute to sustainable development in meaningful ways.
