🚀 Jumpstarting My Journey: First 150 Hours at One Inside I am excited to share my first weeks at One Inside as a Sales & Account Manager! It has been 150 hours and 25 minutes (working time😉) of learning, connecting, and getting amazed by the world of digital experiences. Here are some highlights: Great People: I have met some fantastic teammates and clients. They are a testament to the collaborative spirit and wealth of knowledge at One Inside. Learning Curve: I dived deep into how we create engaging experiences across various devices and platforms. About guiding customers smoothly through these digital journeys and making tweaks along the way to make things even better. Adobe Expertise: I spent around 18 hours getting to know Adobe solutions, especially the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and its surrounding capabilities. 💡 Fun fact: Did you know that AEM has its roots in Swiss software? Adobe acquired a company from Basel called Day Communiqué (CQ) in 2010. This integration now forms the core of the Adobe Experience Cloud. Our team has been working with this technology since its origin in the early 2000s, tracing the evolution of this robust platform over the years. One Inside is not just an Adobe partner; we are experts with years of hands-on experience. Our long history with Adobe's platforms allows us to offer top-notch solutions to our clients, ensuring their digital experiences are seamless and effective. How to ruin onboarding: Adobe example If you want to test generative fill from Adobe, it will be very difficult to get to the trial. The “Start free trial” button will not let you try the product, but will lead to a confusing multi-step screen with a choice of tariff plans and entering card details. Thanks to Adobe's prominence, it doesn't suffer from poor onboarding. But small products definitely shouldn’t repeat these company mistakes in the design of the first session: 1. Loaded offer - the simpler and shorter your initial offer, the more likely the user will reach the end of the funnel. 2. Complex pricing policy - confusing tariff plans and a complex cancellation process are an easy way to ruin your reputation and complicate the work of support. 3. Fake personalization - an “individual offer” that has nothing to do with the interests of the client - a great way to lose trust and turn away the user. _______ If you simply click on the trial without familiarizing yourself with the pricing policy, then auto-renewal causes further disappointment and a feeling of deception and robbery. Also, familiarization with prices at the first stage reconciles the user; upon repeated consideration, the price does not seem exorbitant or shocking to him; acceptance occurs within a week. I would note that these are powerful tools. A new or little-known product must have an extremely reasonable price in order to sell the product the first time after an easy trial. This greatly reduces the payback time of the product. It was great to see everyone at Adobe Summit. It is always fun to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and see what people are working on. Congrats to my former colleague and friend Jack Jin for being this year's Adobe Rockstar. That is two former Crown Partners colleagues who won the award. Key themes from Summit were no different from what the tech world has been talking about for the past year. - AI is a great demo but we are still trying to understand how it can be used for the day-to-day. Adobe GenStudio moved the conversation to internal processes and the mechanics of personalization at scale. AEP is the brain of the Adobe ecosystem. - Driving outcomes with technology is the key to funding in 2024. Just being on the latest and greatest or matching the competition is not enough for investment anymore. Tracking how tech and process can drive results is required. - Speed is a winning strategy. Edge delivery is coming to AEM and Adobe Commerce for not just page speed but faster implementations. - Commerce is table stakes, little mention of commerce all week long in the larger non-breakout sessions. Commerce is still vital to business outcomes. Its presence in a customer-centric manner is expected. #adobesummit #adobe

Recently, I ran across a software that turns low-quality videos into high-quality ones. The product itself  was quite remarkable, but what caught my eye was its monetization model. It was offering only a licencing option which seems like the perfect option to collect a one-time fee but is it really the best? It is certainly not the most profitable option! Not long ago (well 10 years doesn’t seem long ago to me), @Adobe sold its software with the same method but then switched to a monthly/annual subscription model and has never looked back. Their subscription model has been very successful, and it helped the company’s dominance in the software market.  For the 2022 fiscal year, Adobe generated more than $17 billion in revenue against around $4Bn 10 years ago. And as you surely noticed, Adobe is not the only one. So although I was delighted with the product, I was puzzled by this choice. In a world where most of your competitors can rely on the predictability of a steady stream of cash to plan and execute future improvements, it can be risky to choose to try and sell the newest version each time you make improvements to your product.  Fingers crossed for that team!
