During our sessions on violence, children share heartbreaking stories happening to them and within their families. This clearly shows the extent of the prevalance of violence in our communities. Addressing this requires a multi-faceted approach that includes prevention strategies and community engagement. Violence is global challenge that requires urgent action. Over the years, we have intensified efforts to combat violence against children by advocating for preventive and protective measures, raising awareness, providing education, creating supportive environments and working hand in hand with different stakeholders to build the capacity of communities to create a safer and better world for children. #childprotection #endviolence #communityengagement

📢 MEDIA RELEASE: We should all be concerned tomorrow. Elder abuse is a growing concern, with Victoria seeing a 35% increase in cases over the past four years, as per the Victorian Crime Statistics database. This is a stark contrast to the 11% increase in the general population, highlighting the urgent need for support and intervention. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) - June 15th plays a critical role in raising awareness and promoting actions to combat this issue. Initiatives last week included public campaigns, educational programs, and community engagement activities aimed at educating the public on recognising signs of elder abuse. Better Place Australia's CEO, Serge Sardo, emphasises the need for continued advocacy, improved policies, and enhanced support services to address the issue effectively. Graeme Westaway, Chair of the South Eastern Melbourne Elder Abuse Prevention Network, reminds us that all adults have the right to make their own choices and live in a safe environment. https://lnkd.in/gFGZsPSi #ElderAbuseAwareness #ElderAbusePrevention #olderpeople #WEAAD2024 #ElderRights

So, what's the plan? How can we make a difference? How do we put an end to domestic violence? The truth is, we can't stop it entirely. But what we can do is equip ourselves with strategies and education initiatives that truly matter Addressing domestic violence requires a collective effort from the entire community. We need to start by promoting open dialogues in schools, workplaces, and public spaces to break the silence surrounding domestic violence. Encouraging bystander intervention and supporting survivors through accessible resources such as hotlines, shelters, and counseling services are crucial steps. By promoting values of empathy, respect, and equality, and challenging harmful stereotypes, we can collectively create a culture of zero tolerance for domestic violence, fostering safer and healthier communities for everyone. #familylawyerslogan #familylawyersjimboomba #consentordersbrisbane #separationlawyersbrisbane #propertysettlementbrisbane #divorcelawyersbrisbane #domesticviolencelawyersbrisbane #domesticviolencelawyerslogan #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticviolencesurvivor #DV

4 ways you can stop children from being abused Today is International Day of Innocent Children. Let’s remember the millions of children around the world who are victims of violence, abuse, and neglect. Child abuse and neglect can have devastating consequences. It can lead to physical, emotional, and psychological problems. We all know of the atrocities against children in the several wars that are being waged across the world. It shocks us to the core. On the other hand, there are more children being abused on a daily basis in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods. It seems to have stopped shocking us. We may not have a direct say in stopping global wars. But we all have a role to play in protecting the children we know and see. Here are a few things you can do: 1. Educate yourself about child abuse and neglect. The more you know, the better you can spot the signs and symptoms. 2. Speak up for them. Children need us to raise our voices against injustice. 3. Report suspected abuse to the authorities/guardians. If you think a child is being abused, don't hesitate to report it. 4. Support and volunteer at organizations that are working to protect and help children. Let's create a world where children feel safe and loved. #InternationalDayofInnocentChildren #ChildAbusePrevention #ProtectChildren
