The topic was “thinking outside the box” which we can all agree is easier said than done. Jo shared lots of great tools to get into the right mindset and uncover the multitude of possibilities available to us. One tool was to ‘connect dots, don’t copy’. We’ve all seen the copycat tube campaign from Kylie Cosmetics, and with that we have also seen the negative PR surrounding it. Well, Jo’s latest campaign is a brilliant example of how connecting dots should be done👇 The advertisement is: - Talkable - Shareable - Relatable - Likable It has its own identity, but is adding extra value to content that has already been consumed. How did the most hated #brand in 2016 become America’s darling 2023-2024? A maniacal #focus on the #customer and #product. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is a masterclass in growing-up with a generation while still attracting the younger generation. The #assortment evolved to #denim that loves curves, #wedding and wedding event inspired #outfits, and #office appropriate looks. It’s a full lifestyle shop that wants to dress their customers for every facet of life’s events from lounging to partying. At the same time, models went from very singular – skinny, white, blonde and evolved to be more representative of various body shapes, skin tones, and hair styles. All of this, studying and listening to the consumer, along with #strategic #influencer #partnerships have propelled A&F to record breaking earnings this quarter – a 22% increase in first-quarter sales over a 16% increase the year prior. My question is – does A&F have enough #inventory in the pipeline to continue to meet demand levels of this magnitude? Below is a picture from 2004 - 2005ish in my A&F (not the jacket 😂). I had to dig deep for this one. It was a physical picture!!

Icons only for Loewe 💅🏽 This week, the fashion brand launched a new campaign and Dame Maggie Smith is the star of it 🌟 For those that don't know Maggie Smith ~ shame on you ~ she is an 88 year old British actress and legend. This partnership is so. damn. good. The reason being... 💥 It's unexpected. ▶ No one thinks they'll see an 88 year old in a high fashion campaign. 💥 It's authentic. ▶ Whilst most brands are looking to partner with a Kardashian, Loewe are doing something different and staying true to their brand. 💥 It's timeless. ▶ Maggie is an icon who's been on our screens for years. From the power of association, this makes Loewe timeless. Someone on X wrote: “Maggie Smith for Loewe is everything I never knew I needed” And, I couldn't agree more. Unexpected delight. Emma joins the founding team as Chief Product Officer. Another blockbuster. Today Skims sells $750M/yr. → In 2021 Emma dreams up a better-for-you cleaning brand without the bad stuff. She partners with momager Kris Jenner. Together they launch Safely. It's another win. The brand quickly lands at Walmart and Bed Bath & Beyond. _______ Emma is bringing design, hustle, and relentless execution to every business she touches. It also helps to have the royal family of reality TV in your corner. But take a closer look. She's actually repeating the same playbook over and over. • She's breathing new life into old categories. Denim, shapewear, and detergent have existed forever. She's making them hot again. • She's leaning on diversity in a smart way: ages, body type, and skin tones. It's not just DEI fodder. It's actual product decisions. • She's rapidly expanding sales channels. Proving demand with D2C, then landing big retail distribution. Remember when I said Emma's made $300M along the way? I have a confession to make – I simply can't resist a Spanx store at the airport, especially when I have a bit of extra time to spare in DC or Charlotte. And you know what? I'm not the least bit sorry! Their simple white T-shirts are an absolute must-have, and something about an airport always makes me think I need another! I'm so thrilled to see this announcement, as I think they're the perfect fit for a Pop-Up retail experience.
