We're celebrating the resilience, brilliance, and impact of women in the renewable energy industry, including those within Simply Blue Group this International Women's Day. Their dedication serves as an aspiration to future generations, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable future.💪🌍 Kerry Hayes, the Head of our EDI Working Group said: “We must never lose sight that International Women's Day is primarily a call to action, aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development goals, calling for the world to tackle global gender inequality, which is essential as we strive to live on a more just planet. While progress is being made, slowly, we should also take time to recognise and celebrate women’s achievements, resilience and brilliance, which are particularly visible in the sustainable energy sector, and here at Simply Blue Group, where women are playing leading roles in transforming our energy systems for the better.” #InvestInWomen #IWD2024 #InspireInclusion #WomenInRenewables #SustainableLeadership

The intersection of #greenhydrogen and #women in the energy sector holds immense promise for fostering sustainable development and gender inclusivity. #empoweringwomen in the green hydrogen sector is not only a matter of gender equality but a strategic move towards building a more resilient and innovative industry. As the world transitions towards cleaner energy sources, women can play a pivotal role in shaping the green hydrogen landscape. By actively involving women in research, development, and implementation of green hydrogen technologies, we not only ensure diverse perspectives but also create opportunities for women in STEM fields. Additionally, the growth of the green hydrogen industry can lead to #jobcreation, and it is essential to ensure that women have equal access and representation in these emerging roles. As we embrace the era of #sustainableenergy, let us champion the involvement of women in driving the advancements and solutions that will define our clean energy future through green hydrogen. Deputy Director - Knowledge, Policy and Finance Centre at International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
I don't remember #InternationalWomensDay being much of a thing until a few years ago and it's a bit frustrating that in 2024, we're still talking about the need to foster the role of women in the energy sector. But the reality is that the sector is still very male dominated. There are few female energy company CEOs, female energy ministers or female electricians and finding yourself as the only woman on a panel at a conference isn't that unusual. But there are lots of fantastic women entering or moving up in the sector (especially in renewables) and with the right support, we will hopefully see more rapid change.
Happy #InternationalWomensDay ♀️! Women play a pivotal role in driving a just #energytransition. Without women’s engagement, inclusive growth is unachievable. IRENA is proud to provide assessments on gender equity in renewable energy and show that to accelerate the progress we must #InvestInWomen. #IWD2024 🔗https://lnkd.in/dnKF6JKr

Leading Water Engineering Specialist | Over Two Decades Mastering Complex Turbomachinery & Hydraulic Projects 💧 | 2022 STEM/STEAM Leadership Honoree 🏆 | Passionate Advocate for Climate Action & DEI 🌍 | WaterPositive
This International Women's Day, March 8, let us shine a spotlight on the indispensable role of women in water management and sustainability. As we pursue Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG5) — aiming for gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by 2030 🌺 — it's crucial to recognize the unique contributions women make in the water sector. Despite progress, we are yet to fully tap into the potential offered by achieving gender equality in this critical field, which is essential for a prosperous and sustainable world 🌍💜. #Watermanagement is at the heart of sustainable development, impacting everything from ecology to economy. Women, often the primary water collectors and users in communities, possess invaluable knowledge and insights into water conservation, quality, and sustainability. Yet, their representation in decision-making processes and leadership roles within the water sector remains disproportionately low 🌸. On this International Women's Day, we call for a renewed commitment to empowering women in water management. Elevating women's roles is not merely about achieving gender balance but about enhancing the effectiveness, equity, and sustainability of water solutions 💧👩🌾. By ensuring women have equal opportunities to contribute, lead, and innovate, we can address the global water challenges more holistically and effectively. Let us use today to reaffirm our dedication to SDG5, recognizing that gender equality in water management is key to securing a sustainable future for all 🌏💜. Together, we can forge a path where women's contributions in water sustainability are not only recognized but are also integral to our strategies and actions. The journey to 2030 requires us to harness the full potential of every individual. This International Women's Day, let's pledge to empower women in the water sector, acknowledging their role as custodians of our most precious resource 💦🌷. #InternationalWomensDay #SDG5 #GenderEquality #WaterSustainability #Empowerment #WomenInWater #WomenInDesal

👷♀️ #DIDYOUKNOW? The 2019 Global Gender Survey found only 8% of senior management roles in the wind sector were held by women. This is why GWEC has been working hard to explain the importance of equal participation in the fight against climate change and the promotion of sustainable development through our Women In Wind scheme. It is now time to take a look at how the industry is developing, and why GWEC is working with IRENA on this year's Global Gender Survey, which is the foundation of the Renewable Energy: A Gender Perspective Report. This report will be a vital tool in understanding the gender dynamics within our industry and shaping future policies and initiatives to promote gender equality and diversity. 🔦 Who Can Participate?
