Radiology can participate only sporadically in CMS’s current conception of value-based care. Why? Because the system relies heavily on episode-based reimbursement—and vast numbers of imaging studies are non-episodic by their very nature. In fact, around 33% to almost 50% are “one-off” events. Accordingly, to maintain continuity of care at the population level, legislators will need to accommodate some iteration of fee-for-service billings for the foreseeable future. https://ow.ly/777E50POKfO #Radiology #ValueBasedCare #CMS #Reimbursement

New research out today from the University of Otago reveals how young people access vapes in Aotearoa, and exposes serious gaps in NZ's current policy. https://lnkd.in/gNc8Ctng The study calls for "upstream policy measures that reduce the widespread availability and appeal of vaping products". Thank you Professor Janet Hoek, Drs Jude Ball and Michaela Petti, Katie Frost and Anna Demello and all those who took part in this research. It provides evidence to support our concerns that not enough is being done to limit access and appeal of vapes for young people.
