Taxi industry in Canada is blooming. Last year this industry covered $2.3 billion dollars in revenue alone in Canada, providing job opportunities for drivers as well as dispatchers and is going strong this year too.

NO STAFF…… 3rd time this week literally ALL trains have been cancelled at literally a moments notice due to a lack of platform staff / drivers / crew.
- where are all the staff?
… and a landslide due to too much rain and too many new developments along rail lines changing the water table….
If you work in an office it’s fine you can (like me) just go back home and work from home. But, the platform was full of construction, hospital, retail and hospitality workers who were “stuck”…. a young Tradie suggested “car pooling into London” and then he mobilised the masses.
I spend my days helping Councils to convince people “out of the car” but on days like these people are “increasingly reliant on cars”….
Trainline will only partly refund my ticket and the car park won’t refund me. So that’s another £17.30 ($40) down the drain this morning 😢
Other people on the platform were saying that they will lose their jobs because the cancelled trains have meant they’ve been very late or not got to work at all, everyday this week.
Not just the UK, I hear that Qantas and Virgin in Australia cancel as many flights as they run these days.
We live in epic times. Where do we go from here? What’s the solution?

I love traveling by plane.....I do it a lot for work. #travel#IRL#ripoff#WTF
Canadian airfare is #CRAZY expensive. The airlines in Canada #Aircanada are hampering business growth by handcuffing businesses from conducting meaningful in-person meetings for small and medium sized businesses. The prices below are last minute I know... but a one-way flight from Montreal to Fredericton (a 530 mile distance at $2396 that takes 6 hours and 14 minutes to complete is ridiculous!). This should not cost more than $540.00 CDN.
The airlines are gouging all travelers in Canada and the government is letting it happen by not supporting reasonable competition. Pandemic or not - this is algorithmic robbery. Americans would be upset paying $300.00 USD for a similar leg and would be even more upset if it wasn't direct. Europeans would be hopping onto a RyanAir flight for $25.00 and if there were alternatives in Canada, many would choose them over Air Canada. Are there any taxi drivers in Montreal able to drive me from Montreal to Fredericton for less the $2000.00....Most likely yes. I'd even put you up for the night! Argh.....
#Brokeneconomics.
When you think your employer hired an experienced immigration attorney for your L-1, H-1B, or PERM and instead they went for the much cheaper option 😕 . When you thought your company chartered a 757 and instead rented an old DC 3 (you will get propellor lag instead of jet lag 😁 ).
Here is some humor combining aviation, immigration law, sports, and movies ... all the things I enjoy. I hope you do as well.
This is a funny scene from the 1988 movie Major League when the Cleveland Indians owner was trying to cut costs (and also destroy team morale) by making them fly in that old beat up plane.
Has anyone ever flown a DC 3 or flown in a DC 3?
If so, I would love to hear your stories.
Wesley Snipes (Centerfielder Willy Mays Hayes) finds out the "team plane" doesn't have flight attendants and wonders if they even have pilots 😂 .
There is another classic scene where the plane is broken down and the pilots are literally taping the propeller together with duck tape 🦆 .
Not all teams have their own plane, many simply charter a plane as needed. However, back in the 1980s and 1990s, many teams still flew commercial and simply purchased tickets on existing routes. Private aviation, while faster and more convenient (often more comfortable as well) is much more expensive.
There are all levels of budgets in business and executive aviation. Sometimes this is all you can afford and were are not necessarily mocking small or older aircraft, but this was supposed to be a Major League Baseball ⚾ team plane.
At my office at FLL (Ft. Lauderdale Airport), several of the local sports teams use the executive terminal. These include Inter Miami, The Florida Panthers, and many of the visiting soccer and hockey clubs.
Boeing 757s and 767s are very popular large jet aircraft used as charters for sports teams.
We all understand that costs are rising and the labor market may be uncertain, but trying to do complicated legal work yourself or hiring a less experienced or less qualified (but cheaper) option may not always be in your best interest.
You may get your visa approved just like the plane did ultimately get the team to their destination ... but there were major delays and the ride was quite rough and uncertain.

💜Celebrating a massive year of cheaper V/Line fares!
💰Regional Victorians have more money in their pockets thanks to the Allan Labor Government's fairer fares on public transport, saving more than $50 million in its first year.
🚊Passengers have been showing their enthusiasm for cheaper regional travel, with more than 22 million trips taken since the fare cap commenced.
🤑The fare cap is helping ease cost of living pressures, with a return ticket to Ballarat (previously costing up to $45.60) Bendigo (previously costing up to $68.80), or Geelong (previously costing as much as $27.60) now capped at the daily metro fare of $10.60.
🚍By capping the daily regional fare at the same price as the daily metropolitan we have made regional public transport more affordable!
