This is what a growing global business looks like today for the fastest growing publicly traded real estate company in North America...that also just crossed over in to EBITDA profitability for the first time in Q2 of this year. The CEO lives in Israel, but meets with agents and executives mostly on zoom, but also in person when the long flight is needed. Tamir Poleg is calm and cool and collected. We talked one time at an event in Toronto about all the "no's" it takes when trying to raise capital for your idea and business. It's going through that refining fire that makes you have the ability to really lead and present in a way that moves people to action. The CTO lives in Florida and has a team of programmers and beta tester agents around North America that give each other feedback all the time throughout Workplace and Zoom meetings to make things better for everyone. Pritesh Damani is the man organizing the functionality of the app ReZEN that agents use to run their entire business. It was imperative that all systems use proprietary software from the ground up so they could be adapted and modified for any future needs...and he's just so down to earth about explaining it to agents how he and his team implement updates to make agents lives better. The President lives in California. Sharran Srivatsaa is brilliant when it comes to building a real estate business in the trenches. His mind is loaded with ideas for helping agents with online and offline marketing solutions that are not focused on selling, but genuinely helping people achieve the American/Canadian Dream of home ownership. His presentation style is energetic and fast paced so you better pay attention when he's speaking. But if you can't, it's also ok, because everything online he does is recorded for agents to replay anytime and learn the concept. Of course, there are many others on the executive and management team that make this almost 12,000 agent base company continue to grow, but winning an award for innovation is definitely deserved. I'm proud to be a part of a company that is seeking to make agents lives better with great technology, stock awards and stock match purchasing plans for agents to actually retire one day, with leaders who are working hard to keep us all moving forward. Taking the opportunity (whilst pretending not to be watching the Ryder Cup) to reflect on the last 3 months which have been a bit of a whirlwind. 6 quick highlights. 1. Shaved beard off. Panicked and immediately grew it back. 2. Advised SuperGroup on the acquisition of AMCO which was an awesome deal. An international slant but with midlands advisors. 3. Finally ticked off swimming the three longest lakes in the Lake District. If I ever see a pool again it will be too soon. 4. Advised Wendy Merricks (Morgan) FIRP and The Shipowners' Club in connection with investment by Aliter in Jumar. Always a pleasure working with them and Matthew Price. 5. Another Dealmakers shortlist for our corporate team and much deserved recognition for our resident Corporate Lawyer of the Year Richard Griffiths. 6. Lauren Hartigan-Pritchard and her R&I team is going from strength to strength with a surge of new instructions. Too many other things to mention and transactions I can’t mention but it’s been a heck of a quarter with the pipeline looking strong. #teameurope

Stronger Makes Everything Better Oikos Martin Lawrence & Shannon Sharp play the big guy / small guy routine with this low to the ground but nevertheless successful Superbowl ad. Why ? Its a product demonstration around the idea that "stronger is better". This idea is campaignable - I can think of lots of situations - some funnier than others - when "stronger would be better". Would not have thought about needing to rescue my golf cart from the lake, but mostly that's because I tend to stick to the cart path. How boring, I know.
