On my most recent business journey to Zhengzhou in October, I was struck by the city's remarkable growth since my previous visit in 2016. The transformation in every aspect is truly astounding, showcasing Zhengzhou's burgeoning opportunities across various industries. Zhengzhou, with its population of 10 million and an average salary of approximately 97,244 CNY (13,526 USD), stands as a vibrant source of outbound tourists. Notably, after pandemic residents of middle-sized urban centers have shown a keen interest in exploring international destinations, despite not traveling abroad frequently. This eagerness to experience the world opens a wealth of opportunities for travel agencies and businesses involved in the tourism sector. Engaging with this dynamic market through travel fairs and exhibitions can yield significant benefits. Moreover, the local government in cities like Zhengzhou is increasingly open to overseas collaborations, presenting an untapped potential for global partnerships. The evolving landscape of Zhengzhou and similar cities underscores the importance of recognizing and leveraging the opportunities within China's rapidly growing urban centers.

Review 2023 / outlook 2024: Last year, significant progress has been made at the urban regeneration project Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier - Several key partners have been brought on board and the letting rate for the retail, gastronomy and leisure sectors, especially all entertainment and cultural offerings, is now over 90 percent. The retail, dining and leisure sectors (including a cluster for doctor's offices) will comprise a total of around 170 concepts. A particular characteristic of URW's leasing strategy is the establishment of a brand and product mix that includes famous global brands and national players, as well as more individual concepts and local champions. A primary goal is to bring concepts to Hamburg that are not yet represented in the city centre, the entire city area, or even in northern Germany. Rental partners who are not yet represented in the city centre have been brought on board for around two thirds of the area let to date. Examples of these concepts that do not yet exist in the city centre include Breuninger, Lego Discovery Centre, Port des Lumières, Stradivarius, Oysho, PME Legend, Karl Lagerfeld, JD Sports, Hobbs, Phase Eight, Luis Trenker and DJI Hasselblad. The highlights of leasing activities in 2023: - Rhubarb Hospitality Collection, the central flagship partner for the fine dining cluster, has been announced and will open the South American restaurant Elemente and the Air Bar, 13th floor with access to the viewing terrace. - With Pesca, an impressive fish and seafood experience restaurant, is celebrating its market entry in Germany. - In addition, contracts were signed in the dining sector with EL&N London, #Lolas, #Galactic, New York Bagel Bar GmbH and for the special street food cluster "The Kitchen" with #BabyGoat (bar), #BearClaw (burgers, sandwiches and salads), #Chingu (Korean fried chicken), #Chay (vegan), #ZushiMarket (sushi), #Poori (Indian street food), #Spießig (premium kebab) and Cucina by Ciao Bella Ristoranti (Italian) - The retail offering has been strengthened by partnerships with global brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, KARL LAGERFELD, SEPHORA, #Intimissimi and Calzedonia Group. - Karo Kauer Label GmbH, Dr. Martens plc, Luis Trenker, VIU Eyewear, SWAROVSKI, Pandora, LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW, DJI, #ParfümerieSchuback, PME Legend American Classic, NZA New Zealand Auckland, #PhaseEight and #Hobbs ensure a further differentiation of the brand mix.   As anchor tenants, Breuninger, Inditex with five stores, including one of the largest ZARA SA flagship stores, H&M, MANGO, Thalia Bücher GmbH, #INTERSPORTKnudsen, REWE as well as Port des Lumières, LEGO Discovery Centre Hamburg and KINOPOLIS Management Multiplex GmbH have long been confirmed.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/e83rMVsC   #reinventbeingtogether #hamburg #ueberseequartier #westfieldhamburgueberseequartier #urw #urwgermany

Recently, the F&B service brand chain Warning Zone is finalizing the last steps to open the newest branch of “Fury Grilling by Warning Zone” ( or Tiệm Nướng Cuồng Nộ in Vietnamese ) at a strategic location at the intersection of Hai Bà Trưng and Nguyễn Đình Chiểu streets. This new store not only marks a significant step in product innovation but also reflects Warning Zone's ambition to transition its business model to a larger scale and adopt a complex-oriented approach, completely different from its previous traditional model. 🍻 This will be the fourth branch of the “Fury Grilling” brand. All of these establishments are located in areas with high population density and a significant mix of commercial and residential spaces. This is very rational as the business model aims towards a per-head buffet style, requiring optimization of customer volume to achieve financial goals, particularly during the brand's development and expansion phases. When my partner and I co-founded our firm in 1992, we were determined to do great things. With our passion and intensity, we assumed we could make every new project we touched become a game-changer. But as I matured, I learned that many moons must align perfectly to do stellar work and change the rules of an industry. At minimum: • The strategy has to uncover deep insights full of untapped potential, find a void in the market, and carve out a unique space between the giants to exploit. • The location, market, site, and design concept must be perfectly sharp and profoundly simple. • The organization must be bold, united, and committed to thinking differently about its business model and operation than the standard industry "best practices." Based on 31 years of experience, I discovered that 7 out of 10 projects will succeed. But only 3 out of 10 will have all the moons perfectly aligned to change the rules of an industry. So, we have to wait for those rare opportunities to arrive, one of which will happen when Northgate Markets opens their new Mercado prototype store in Coast Mesa in November.  This Mexican Mercado concept is filled with authentic, curated products and vendors, including some locally famous and those straight from Mexico. But unlike a typical “grocery store,” this Mercado comprises 27 Puestos (stalls) featuring thoughtfully sourced and crafted Mexican cuisine. The store will also have an open Mercado, fine dining restaurant and bar, outdoor patio, and community kitchens. While I'm proud of the strategy and architectural, interior, and graphic design concept my team and others created, Northgate's incredibly talented, smart, and convicted team deserves all the credit for creating this game-changing concept. I'm always impressed how much a retailer can do with tight confines, like this 1,600-sq-ft store. The site, which Atlantis Management acquired from an area fuel wholesaler, accomplishes quite a bit: > Over-indexes smartly on energy drinks across its 13 cooler doors > Further elevates Atlantis' increasing investment in fresh grab-n-go food, b2c coffee, pizza, etc. > Focuses on the grab-n-go consumer with heavy emphasis on King size snacks, cartons of cigarettes (taking advantage of being relatively close to the tax-heavy NY border), high-margin general merchansise. I was particularly impressed with several features and strategies: - Rewards... Atlantis is pretty new on the rewards/loyalty, yet have roughly 20,000 members in about 8 months, with growth accelerating. - In-Store Promotions. The retailer is aggressive on promotions and every day low prices (edlp)... from the pics they use color codes to signal a promotion and a different color for edlp. let's see if you can figure which color is for which pricing feature [go to my facebook link below] - Design. pay attention to the signage's clean text and subway tile backsplash that gives this store a clean-yet-gritty urban touch, coupled with faux wood motifs on interior columns above the subway tile, yielding stronger earth tones. stronger earth tones. Only 18 yrs old, Atlantis started out on the fuel side, growing its network across the Northeast. Over the past roughly half-dozen years, it has made enormous strides on convenience retailing end as it parades toward 100 company-run locations (currently at 89 and should hit the century mark by next year).
