Some of the things I forgot to consider when I finally left the office job I hated: - there are lots people out there who are easy to work with! - there are lots people out there who will support what you do. - the feeling of relief when you leave a toxic environment is incredible and instant. - creativity, positivity and success does not need a hierarchy to drive it. - you can work wherever there is WiFi 🏝️ - life without perpetual conflict, unnecessary competition and office politics, is a life filled with joy. - Mondays can actually be a lot of fun! - My only regret was not shuffling down that pipe and into freedom sooner. How do you reset at work after a break or quieter summer period? #HolidayMode #LinkedInNewsEurope My method is to resist email when i log on, and just to review my diary and ensure i have my priorities clear for the next few weeks. It's important to create value from your activities, so people-first. I call my main colleagues to catch up and get their steer on any activities and priorities that i may need to focus on. This can put me at a disadvantage as there may be emails that are relevant that i've not read, but what matters is what matters to colleagues and the business. Only then do i give time to email catch-up. But never do too much first day back and make yourself exhausted and resentful of not being on holiday. Don't rush, don't try and save the world; just add value and focus.

Enjoyed a nice trip to the big smoke last weekend. TOCA Social at the 02 was a good craic.
