The first Biden-Trump presidential debate takes place this Thurs. 6/27 on CNN. I will definitely watch it and hope that you will, too. But keep your eyes and ears open. I am very doubtful that Mr. Trump will receive fair and equal treatment from either CNN or the two 'moderators' who have a long history of bias against Mr. Trump and conservatives. https://lnkd.in/gHkkCyfS Read this article and watch the clip for just one example of how CNN silences certain perspectives while promoting others. Karoline Leavitt simply mentioned how CNN had demonstrated this bias in the past. And for this 'egregious sin', her microphone was cut and she was taken off the air. What is so dangerous about the TRUTH and FREEDOM OF SPEECH? Could it be that there is an agenda underway, and that some people don't trust YOU to decide whether YOU believe or disbelieve something based on what YOU actually see and hear? HERE'S MY POINT. Be skeptical and ask hard questions. Don't accept anything at face value because there is always more to the story. It is not difficult to find various alternatives to what you are told, or to fact-check things for yourself. I trust you to make informed decisions for yourself IF you have all the info to do so. Following US and Democratic Party Leader President Joe Biden's recent CNN presidential debate with his challenger, the Republican Party's Donald Trump, there is an interesting public discussion on the importance of real time fact-checking of political debates and speeches to hold politicians accountable for untruths. CNN did not fact-check the presidential debate in real time. The broadcaster did so only afterwards, saying "It is up to the candidates to challenge one another". Real time and post-speech fact-checking of politicians is critical to hold politicians accountable for untruths. Fact-checking is even more important in developing countries such as South Africa, where politicians deliberately lie, spread disinformation and cynically manipulate the past, and most citizens do not read, or read sparsely or are functionally illiterate - their reading skills are inadequate or they are fully illiterate. https://lnkd.in/dTNsMTs6

KEY POINTS: (1) News organizations cut short the live broadcast of Trump’s lie-laden news conference; (2) Trump uses lies, smears, fake news and conspiracy theories to sway people based on their fears, greed, ignorance and bigotries.

Of course, it's a complete setup.

I know the consensus is that only the ignorant watch Fox News, but I would point out that no other cable channel offers as many different viewpoints. Yes, Fox News hosts are generally conservative, but unlike the mainstream media they are not afraid to give air time to those with opposing political opinions. A perfect example of this was the oft criticized Sean Hannity providing a forum last week for both Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsome to lay out their different visions of governance. He did so without the usual biased questions that liberal moderators use when forced to give conservatives an opportunity to speak. You show me another cable news channel that would do what Hannity did, and then tell me how Fox News is only for "cultists." It is in that spirit that I report today's WSJ news concerning its most recent presidential poll that shows Donald Trump as a clear winner over Joe Biden in "national" polling. I emphasize "national" since it is well understood that Democrats have significant advantages in "popular" numbers. And so, as the WSJ points out, in polling where Trump is either ahead or even with Biden, it means he is way ahead in the electoral race. The numbers for Biden in terms of presidential preference get even worse when you add in third party candidates. Trumps lead goes from 47% to 43% in a head-to-head matchup to 37% to 31% when third party candidates are added. Biden's overall approval rate now is at the lowest point in his presidency at 37%. And his signature term for his economic policy, Bidenomics, has dropped out of his vocabulary. Biden may say he doesn't watch the polls, but clearly whoever is advising does. Fox News, of course, is carrying the results of the most recent poll. I imagine the rest of the cable networks may make passing mention of it, as they hammer Trump with DNC talking points and remind their audience that disaffected Democrats will "come home" for the election. In short, Fox News and the WSJ will give it to you straight. The rest of the state run media will water down the implication of the polls, assure the audience that all will be well, and return to non-stop Trump bashing. And this is what our "best and brightest" think is good TV journalism. How pathetic.
