We’re taking you behind-the-scenes at last week’s Future Food Tech San Francisco. Our team engaged in discussions with leading CPG companies on co-developing health + wellness products within the no-high cannabinoid category. Our CEO, Caitlyn Krebs, had the privilege of joining a breakfast hosted by Danone, focusing on women’s pivotal role in the food revolution. Led by Isabelle Esser the event spotlighted successful women leaders in food-tech, including Katie Stebbins, Ryan Shadrick Wilson, and Stephanie Culler. A key takeaway was the importance of mentorship in fostering women leaders in food tech. As a company with a majority-female board of directors, we are committed to empowering women. Equity is core to our mission at Novartis. Every patient must get the care they need and deserve. While we are making progress, there is a lot more to be done to ensure our impact is truly equitable and at scale. I am honored for the opportunity to speak at this upcoming panel at the World Economic Forum at Davos, where we’ll focus on driving meaningful change toward health equity across the healthcare ecosystem and, specifically, how women are at the forefront of leading this change. At Novartis, we are committed to fostering equity--both within our organization and in the work we do in service of our patients. This is why we have joined the United Nations' Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC). As part of our EPIC pledge, we have made a public commitment to monitor pay equity, remove bias from hiring, create pay transparency, and achieve gender balance in management. The commitment to equity needs to be a collective commitment and continued dialogue and collaboration within our industry and beyond is key to ensuring all of us deliver on our shared goals. I am thankful to the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and The Female Quotient for convening this panel, bringing together esteemed leaders in healthcare. Feeling the Weight in Texas Living in Austin, it can't be denied that the current political climate is heavy. As a woman in Texas, the constant back-and-forth on women's healthcare is particularly exhausting. It's easy to feel discouraged. But then I remember the incredible women making a difference right here in our own backyard! Here in Austin, there are amazing startups and women-owned businesses working tirelessly to improve women's health. Your friendly neighborhood problem-solver, aka me, dove into the fray, armed with nothing but a Macbook ,an unyielding spirit of creativity and sheer panic!🦸♂️💡 Liz Kariuki calls me her "number one problem solver," and let me tell you, my skills were put to the ultimate test. Conjuring a plan B out of thin air? Check. Turning panic into genius? Double-check. And guess what? The editing saga that unfolded was so epic, it only took me 40 minutes give or take 10 minutes of screaming at Final Cut Pro for randomly shutting down.
