Last week, I travelled 7000 miles in 5 days. …it was absolutely worth it! Starting from Boston to Tampa, then to Sarasota for the Ness Digital Engineering Sales Kickoff. I got to meet my new peers in person, spend time with our Exec Leadership Team, as well as our owners, KKR (who are incredibly present and helpful). It’s amazing how much value we all find in meeting people in person - it never gets old. I spent one night there then was off to Seattle to spend time with exec leaders from our sister KKR companies at an EBC with AWS. Leaving our SKO to spend time with 30+ other leaders covering 18 other portfolio companies to hear from the likes of Adam Selipsky, Swami Sivasubramanian, Steve Comstock, and the one and only Subir Grewal, CFA was worth it. More importantly the understanding of what AWS is doing around Cultural Innovation, Modern Data Strategies, GenAI and Developer Productivity is incredible for an ecosystem already maniacal about serving the customer and innovating. If you ever have the opportunity to do an EBC at Amazon, go out of your way to do it! Aside from the learning, the relationships and connections coming out of that really help all leaders bring more impact to their business. Grateful to Hon. Minister Andrew Bayly, Michael Alp, Alan Carnaby, Emma Dobson, Lisa Ringleff, and the entire team at Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) for the opportunity to represent Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the #eInvoicing Adoption Leaders Group. New Zealand's leadership in eInvoicing adoption is commendable, and it was inspiring to witness the record progress on a month-on-month (MoM) basis. New Zealand leads the world on the eInvoicing adoption MoM metric. Impressive, right? During the discussions, I emphasized the foundational role of #eInvoicing in building a robust digital public infrastructure, anchored in data standardization and harmonization. Drawing from the peculiar innovation approach from Amazon, I highlighted the importance of long-term thinking and making outsized impacts by tapping into the synergies of adjacent initiatives such as #digitalidentity and #scamsprevention. We had 23 large organizations from NZ and AU who actively participated in the eInvoicing adoption leaders meeting on 4 April, with some recently going live with eInvoicing. 🚀 3 Googlers. 4 speakers. 70 attendees. 🚀 That's a wrap-up for Data and Cloud Connect, folks! 🎉 On 7th August, Katalyst Labs generously opened its doors to a Google event which I co-led as a Women Techmakers Ambassador. This event featured Esna Ong (who came all the way from Google Singapore!) as our keynote speaker, Jaya Rajwani, Sumair Hamza and Maryam Arshad Mahmood. Esna talked about what Google for Startups Cloud has been doing in PK and what their future plans are. Discussions also revolved around what Google Partnerships mean for the Pakistani tech industry, trends in data and AI, cloud security and data governance. P.S. - It was my first time (impromptu) hosting! Turns out, things go much better than what we usually imagine in our heads. It was fun. 😄 P.P.S. - Was fun to design the name stickers too! I completed my first AWS Partner Summit in Sydney this week and it is clear to me that Amazon Web Services (AWS) is being both deliberate and intentional in it's Partners Everywhere focus in the APJ region. During the engaging keynote discussion between Corrie Briscoe and Jaime Valles , Jaime laid out how AWS are creating a more streamlined engagement model for partners with the consolidation of its partner teams under a single leader, Chris Casey. This change aims to make it easier for partners to work with AWS and ensure a consistent experience across the region. Jaime also outlined AWS's four key priorities that will guide its work with partners: 1. Innovation - Driving customer innovation through new technologies like AI/ML and helping customers transform. 2. Migration/Modernisation - Accelerating customers' cloud journeys and improving their experience through migration and modernisation projects. 3. Culture - Embracing AWS's leadership principles of customer obsession and long-term thinking in partnerships. 4. Partners - Recognising that partners are critical to addressing customer needs through specialized solutions. This focus on customers, simplification, and the value of partnerships sets the stage for continued growth opportunities for AWS partners in 2024 and beyond.
